To cancel your drama streaming subscription, go to the same platform that bills you and turn off the subscription there: the Apple App Store if you signed up on an iPhone or iPad, Google Play on Android, the service’s own website if you subscribed directly, or Roku, Amazon, or your wireless carrier if that’s where the charge originates. Canceling in the wrong place is the single most common reason charges keep appearing.
Find Out Where the Charge Comes From
Pull up your bank or credit card statement and look at the merchant name on the charge. “APPLE.COM/BILL” means the subscription runs through the App Store. “GOOGLE*” followed by the service name points to Google Play. “ROKU” or “Amazon” tells you the billing lives with those platforms. If the drama service’s own name appears on the statement, you probably signed up directly on its website.
Some subscriptions never touch your credit card at all. Verizon’s +play platform, for example, bundles streaming services into your wireless bill. If you don’t see the charge on your card, check your phone bill next.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. You’ll see every active and expired subscription tied to your Apple account. Tap the drama service, tap Cancel Subscription, and confirm.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
Access continues through the end of your current billing period. Apple does not prorate refunds, so canceling on day one of the cycle gives you nothing extra over canceling on the last day.
Cancel on Android
Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and go to your subscriptions page. Select the drama service, tap Cancel Subscription, and follow the prompts.2Google Play. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
Deleting the app does not cancel anything. The billing agreement sits in Google Play, not inside the app, so removing the icon leaves the charges running.
Cancel on the Service’s Website
If you signed up on the streaming service’s own site with your email and a card, that’s where you cancel. Log in, open account settings or your profile, and look for a subscription or billing tab. Most services show your plan alongside a cancel option. Expect a few retention screens asking why you’re leaving or offering a discount; click through to the final confirmation page.
Viki, for instance, lets you cancel from your account settings by clicking “Cancel plan” and confirming the popup.3Viki. How Can I Cancel My Viki Pass Subscription If the website redirects you to Apple or Google when you try to cancel, your billing actually runs through one of those platforms, and that’s where you need to go.
Cancel Through Roku, Amazon, or Your Carrier
Roku
Sign in at my.roku.com, go to Manage Your Subscriptions, find the drama service under Active Subscriptions, select Manage Subscription, and then Turn Off Auto-Renew. You keep access through the end of the current billing cycle.4Roku Support. Manage or Cancel Subscriptions on Roku
You can also do it from the device. Press the Home button, highlight the app, press the Star button on the remote, and choose Manage Subscription. If the option isn’t there, the subscription isn’t billed through Roku and you’ll need to cancel wherever you originally signed up.
Amazon
For drama channels added through Prime Video, sign in to your Amazon account and open Your Memberships and Subscriptions. Find the add-on, select Unsubscribe, and confirm.5Amazon. Cancel Your Prime Video Add-On Subscription
Wireless Carrier
If the subscription shows up on your phone bill, cancel through your carrier’s account portal. On Verizon, sign in to My Verizon as the account owner, go to Account, then +play, then Manage. Find the subscription under Active, select Manage, choose Cancel Subscription, and confirm by selecting Remove.6Verizon. Manage +play Subscriptions Other carriers use similar flows in their own account tools.
Confirm the Cancellation Went Through
Clicking the button isn’t the same as knowing it worked. Go back to the same platform and check that the subscription now shows as canceled or set to expire. On Apple, the Subscriptions page will display an expiration date. On Google Play, a canceled subscription is marked as not renewing. On Roku, it moves out of the Active section once auto-renew is off.
Screenshot the confirmation screen and save any confirmation email. Set a calendar reminder for a day or two after your next scheduled billing date and check your statement then. Most services keep your access running until the end of the period you already paid for, though a few cut it off immediately.
If the Charges Don’t Stop
Start with the streaming service’s customer support and send them your cancellation confirmation. Most post-cancellation charges are billing delays or system errors, and support can usually reverse them.
If that fails, dispute the charge with your card issuer. The FTC advises consumers to file a chargeback when a company won’t stop billing after a cancellation attempt.7Federal Trade Commission. How to Stop Subscriptions You Never Ordered You can open a dispute through your card issuer’s online portal or by calling the number on the back of your card. Under federal law, the issuer must acknowledge your written dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles.8Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 US Code 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors

Canceling a Free Trial Before It Converts
Most drama services offer free trials that convert to paid subscriptions automatically when the trial ends. Cancel before that date to avoid the charge. On Apple and Google Play, canceling right after you sign up doesn’t cut your trial short; you keep access for the full trial window.
One trap worth knowing: if you cancel a trial, then later reinstall the app and tap “Restore Purchases,” that does not restart the trial or create a new subscription. Restore Purchases only reconnects your device to an existing active subscription on your account. If the trial has already expired and you didn’t cancel in time, restoring just confirms the charge for the current cycle. Setting a phone reminder for the day before the trial ends is the simplest way to avoid the whole problem.
