The 7-Day Deadline Is What Matters Most
Mister Car Wash requires cancellation at least seven days before your membership renews to avoid the next month’s charge.1Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club Membership Plan Terms Your renewal date matches your original signup date. If you joined on the 15th, the cutoff is the 8th of the following month.
Miss the window and the charge goes through. Paid fees are nonrefundable, and Mister Car Wash does not credit unused portions of a billing cycle.1Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club Membership Plan Terms If you are considering canceling, submit the request early rather than pushing it to the last few days.
Canceling Online or Through the App
For most members, the website or mobile app is the quickest path. Log in, then open “Manage Memberships” from the profile icon on the site or the Account tab in the app. Select the membership you want to end, pick a reason for leaving, scroll down, and tap “Cancel My Membership.”2Mister Car Wash. A confirmation pop-up appears on screen once the cancellation goes through, and you also get a confirmation email. Save that email. It is your proof if a charge shows up later that shouldn’t.2Mister Car Wash. Account Management
Sometimes the cancel option is greyed out. That tends to happen when a membership was not originally linked to an online account. In that case, use one of the methods below.

Canceling by Phone, Email, or In Person
By Phone
Call 866-254-3229. To verify your identity, the representative may ask for your last name, the last four digits of your payment card, or the phone number on file.1Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club Membership Plan Terms Before hanging up, ask for a confirmation number or a confirmation email.
By Email
Send a cancellation request to help@mistercarwash.com. Include your name, the email on the account, and enough detail to locate your membership. Email leaves a timestamped written record, so this method carries its own documentation.1Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club Membership Plan Terms
In Person
Walk into any Mister Car Wash location and tell a team member you want to cancel. Staff can pull up your account using the barcode number on your windshield sticker, or personal details like your name, phone number, email, or billing card.4Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club This is a good option when the app is not cooperating, and you walk away with confirmation from the person who processed it.
What Happens After You Cancel
Cancellation does not shut off access right away. Your vehicle keeps its wash access through the end of the current paid billing period.1Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club Membership Plan Terms If you paid through June 15, you can wash until that date. After the period ends, the barcode sticker on your windshield goes inactive.
Your online account stays open after you cancel, and you will keep receiving communications based on your existing preferences.1Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club Membership Plan Terms To stop marketing emails, update your communication preferences separately.
Downgrading, Pausing, or Swapping Vehicles
If your goal is to spend less rather than leave entirely, you can drop to a lower-priced tier without canceling. Log in, go to “Manage Memberships,” select the membership, then tap “Edit Membership” and “Change My Membership.” Choose the lower tier, review, and confirm. You will get a confirmation pop-up and email. If the “Change My Membership” button is greyed out, you will need to visit a location to switch tiers.2Mister Car Wash. Account Management
There is no pause or freeze option. The membership terms include no provision to temporarily suspend billing while keeping the account active, so your choices are to keep it, downgrade, or cancel.1Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club Membership Plan Terms
If you are getting rid of your car but want to keep the membership on a new one, do not cancel. Visit a location in person and staff will update the account and issue a new barcode sticker for the replacement vehicle.4Mister Car Wash. Unlimited Wash Club If you are selling the car and will not use the membership on another vehicle, cancel before the sale. The windshield sticker is permanently attached, and a new owner cannot use it.

If the company will not fix it, federal law gives you a separate right to stop preauthorized electronic transfers. Notify your bank or card issuer at least three business days before the next scheduled charge, and your bank can place a stop-payment order on the recurring transaction.5Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. 12 CFR 1005.10 – Preauthorized Transfers You can also dispute post-cancellation charges as a chargeback through your card issuer. Your cancellation confirmation email is the piece of evidence that carries the dispute.
The FTC’s final click-to-cancel rule requires sellers to make canceling a subscription as easy as signing up, to provide a simple cancellation mechanism, and to stop charges immediately when a consumer cancels.6Federal Trade Commission. Federal Trade Commission Announces Final Click-to-Cancel Rule Making It Easier for Consumers to End Recurring Subscriptions and Memberships If you signed up online, you should be able to cancel online with roughly the same effort. A company that makes cancellation significantly harder than enrollment, or runs you through a hard-sell retention gauntlet, is the kind of practice this rule targets.
