How to Cancel Midco Internet With No Early Termination Fee

To cancel Midco internet, call 1-800-888-1300 and tell the representative you want to disconnect. Midco does not process cancellations online, through live chat, or in the app.1Midco. Online Ordering The call itself is quick, but you have 14 calendar days after service ends to return leased equipment, and that window is where most unexpected charges come from.

Make the Call

Phone support runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Time.2Midco. Live Chat Tell the agent you want to disconnect, and give them the date you want service to stop. You can also cancel in person at a Midco Store, which lets you return the equipment on the same trip.3Midco. Equipment Return

Before you hang up or leave the counter, ask for a cancellation confirmation number and request an email confirmation of the final service date. That paper trail is what you’ll fall back on if a charge appears later that shouldn’t.

What to Have Ready

Pull your Midco account number off a billing statement or from the My Account portal. The agent will also need the name on the account and the service address, and will run a security check using the credentials set up when the account opened.

Only the primary account holder or an authorized user can disconnect service. If you’re closing an account for a family member who has died and you aren’t listed on it, call the same number and ask what documentation they need; a death certificate is typically required.

Early Termination Fees

Residential Midco internet has no contract, so canceling carries no early termination fee.4Midco. Midco Announces Customer Commitment You can disconnect at any time.

Business accounts are different. Midco’s business master services agreement sets an early termination fee equal to the remaining charges on your contract term, plus any waived installation fees and discounts.5Midco. Business Master Services Agreement If you’re on a business plan, read your service order before you call so you know what the final number will look like.

Return the Equipment Within 14 Days

You have 14 calendar days after service ends to return all leased equipment: modem, router, power cords, remotes, and any accessories that shipped with the hardware.3Midco. Equipment Return Miss the deadline and a charge posts to your account. It gets reversed once Midco receives the gear, but there’s no reason to let it hit at all.

If equipment is lost or damaged beyond use, Midco’s internet subscriber agreement charges the full manufacturer’s suggested retail price to replace it.6Midco. Internet Subscriber Agreement Pack carefully.

In Person

Drop everything off at any Midco Store during business hours.3Midco. Equipment Return Get a receipt and hold onto it for at least a full billing cycle. Without that receipt, disputing an unreturned-equipment charge gets messy.

By Mail

If you recently received new equipment from Midco, a prepaid UPS return label should be in the shipping box. Put the old gear in the same box and send it back.3Midco. Equipment Return No label? Contact Midco and ask them to email one. A mailed label takes three to five days and sometimes up to two weeks, which can eat into your 14-day window, so email is the safer request.

You can also ship on your own to Midco’s processing center: Contec, 2402 E. Empire St., Suite C, Bloomington, IL 61704.3Midco. Equipment Return Remove or black out any old shipping labels on the box, and keep the tracking number.

Your Final Bill

Midco prorates the final statement, so you pay only for the days you actually used service.6Midco. Internet Subscriber Agreement Charges run through whichever is later: the effective termination date, or the date your equipment is disconnected and returned. Holding onto the modem an extra week after cancellation can extend what you owe.

Look the bill over when it arrives. Confirm the service end date, check that no unreturned-equipment charges are sitting there if you’ve already returned everything, and make sure any credits appear. If something is off, call back with the confirmation number from your cancellation.

If You’re Only Leaving Temporarily

For an absence of 30 days to six months, Midco offers a free vacation plan that reduces your monthly bill rather than ending service.7Midco. Vacation Plan You’ll still see charges for equipment and anything not covered by the plan, and there’s a small reinstatement fee when you come back. Fully canceling and resubscribing later means another installation visit and the loss of any promotional pricing you had, so pausing is usually cheaper if you know you’ll return within six months.
