To cancel Medical Guardian, call 800-313-1191 and ask for the cancellation department. That’s the only way to start; there is no online cancellation, no email option, and the MyGuardian portal doesn’t handle it.1Medical Guardian. Your Online Portal What happens after the call depends on two things: whether you lease or own your equipment, and how long you’ve had the service. Miss a step and you can be billed a $350 equipment fee or keep getting charged after you thought you were done.
Making the Cancellation Call
Customer care is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.2Medical Guardian. Shipping + Returns – Medical Guardian Before you dial, pull up your account number from the original service agreement or a recent invoice. The representative will verify your identity against the primary account holder’s name and billing details.
Say clearly that you want to cancel. Expect a retention offer or two. You don’t need to give a reason; repeating the request is enough. Before you hang up, ask for a confirmation or reference number and the name of the person you spoke with, and write both down. That record is your evidence if billing questions come up later.
The 10-Day Window for a Near-Full Refund
If the equipment just arrived and you’ve changed your mind, cancel and return the system within 10 calendar days of purchase to get a full refund minus a $50 restocking fee.3Medical Guardian. Medical Guardian General Service Agreement The clock runs from the date of sale, not the day the package landed on your doorstep, so move fast.
The Three-Month Minimum
Medical Guardian requires a minimum three-month commitment.3Medical Guardian. Medical Guardian General Service Agreement Cancel before the three months are up and you won’t be refunded for the remaining time inside that window. Anything you prepaid beyond the three-month minimum is refundable on request. Pay for a year upfront and cancel in month five, and you can recover the unused seven months but not the first three.
Returning Leased Equipment
If you lease your equipment, returning it is not optional. Service is not canceled until Medical Guardian physically has the system back.4Medical Guardian. Shipping + Returns – Medical Guardian The cancellation doesn’t take effect the day you called. It takes effect the day the box arrives at their facility. Billing continues in between.
Pack every component that came with the original kit: base station, power cords, charging cradle, wearable pendant or wristband, and any sensors. A few models have specific return requirements:
- Mobile Guardian, Premium Guardian, and Active Guardian must include both the charging cradle and the handheld device.
- Family Guardian must come back with the base station and all three safety sensors (two activity sensors and one main door contact sensor).
A missing component can trigger a lost equipment fee.5Medical Guardian. Shipping + Returns – Medical Guardian

Canceling for a Family Member
Medical Guardian’s published policies don’t lay out a specific third-party cancellation process, but the company will need to verify that the caller has authority on the account. If you’re already listed as an authorized contact, this is quick. If the subscriber can join the call or give verbal authorization, that’s the easiest path.
If the subscriber has died or is incapacitated, expect to provide documentation such as a power of attorney, death certificate, or legal guardianship papers. Call 800-313-1191 with the account number, the subscriber’s full name, and the relevant documents ready.
If Charges Continue After Cancellation
If Medical Guardian keeps charging you after cancellation and return, call back with your reference number and the tracking receipt showing delivery. If that doesn’t fix it, file a dispute or chargeback with your credit or debit card company by calling the number on the back of your card or logging into your account, then follow up with a written letter to the billing disputes address the card company lists.8Federal Trade Commission.
