How to Cancel Impulse App Without Getting Charged

To cancel the Impulse app, you have to cancel the subscription through whichever platform took your money: the Apple App Store if you signed up on an iPhone or iPad, Google Play if you signed up on Android, or the Impulse website if you subscribed there directly. Uninstalling the app does nothing to your billing. The charges keep coming until you cancel the subscription itself.1Impulse. Subscription Terms

Find Out Who’s Actually Billing You

Before you can cancel, you need to know which platform processed your purchase. Search your email for a receipt from Apple, Google, or Impulse. If nothing turns up, pull up your bank or credit card statement and look at the charge description. “APPLE.COM/BILL” means the subscription runs through Apple. A line starting with “GOOGLE*” means Google Play. Impulse’s direct charges show up under names like “Mental^IQImpulse,” “mental-impulse,” “IQ Mental Impulse,” or “impulse-app.”2Impulse. Bank Charge

Get this right the first time. Trying to cancel through Google when Apple is the one billing you will leave the charges in place.

Cancel on an iPhone or iPad

Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. You’ll see every active and expired subscription tied to your Apple ID. Tap Impulse, then tap Cancel Subscription. The button sometimes sits below the fold, so scroll if you don’t see it.3Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

No longer have the device? Go to account.apple.com in any browser, sign in with the same Apple ID, and cancel from there.3Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple

Cancel on Android

Open the Google Play app, tap your profile icon in the top right, and go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Tap Impulse and choose Cancel subscription. Google will ask why you’re canceling before it finishes the process.4Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play

You can do the same thing from a computer at play.google.com, which helps if you’ve switched phones.

Cancel a Subscription You Started on the Impulse Website

Website subscriptions aren’t managed by Apple or Google, so the two app-store methods above won’t do anything. Log into your account on the Impulse website and click Cancel Subscription, or email support@brainimpulse.me and ask them to cancel it. Do this before your current billing period ends.1Impulse. Subscription Terms

Email is the fallback if you can’t remember your login. Include the email address on the account and the charge you’re trying to stop.

Cancel at Least 24 Hours Before You’re Charged

For Apple and Google Play subscriptions, cancellation needs to happen at least 24 hours before a free trial ends or a renewal processes. If your renewal date is the 15th, waiting until the 14th may be too late. For website subscriptions, Impulse’s terms say to cancel before the trial period expires but don’t specify a 24-hour buffer.1Impulse. Subscription Terms

Cancel the moment you’ve decided to. There’s no penalty for canceling early, because you keep every premium feature through the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

What Happens After You Cancel

Cancellation turns off the automatic renewal. It doesn’t cut off your access. If you paid for a year and cancel after three months, you still have nine months of use ahead of you.1Impulse. Subscription Terms

Apple and Google both show a confirmation screen, and you should get an email as well. Save that email. It’s your proof if a charge shows up later that shouldn’t have.

Check your statements for the next billing cycle or two. Charges usually stop cleanly, but if one slips through, you want to catch it quickly.

Getting a Refund for a Charge You Already Paid

Canceling stops future charges. It doesn’t reverse past ones. The refund path depends on who billed you.

Apple

Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, click “I’d like to,” choose “Request a refund,” pick a reason, and select the Impulse charge. Apple usually responds within 48 hours. Whether you qualify depends on your situation and can vary by country.5Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple

Google Play

For unauthorized charges, Google has a dedicated form you can use within 120 days of the transaction. For other refund requests, Google tells you to contact the developer first, because developers can issue refunds under their own policies.6Google Play Help. Learn About Google Play Refund Policies

Website Purchases

Impulse’s terms don’t lay out a refund policy for direct website purchases. Email support@brainimpulse.me with your account details and the charge you want refunded. If the company doesn’t respond or says no, your card issuer or bank is the next step.

When Charges Won’t Stop: Dispute Through Your Bank

If charges keep appearing after cancellation, or you never authorized the subscription at all, you have formal dispute rights.

On a credit card, the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you 60 days from the statement showing the charge to write to the card issuer at its billing-disputes address (not the payment address). You can withhold payment on the disputed amount while the investigation runs.7Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges

On a debit card or direct bank withdrawal, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act gives you a similar 60-day window to report the error, counted from the date your bank sends the statement reflecting it. Report later than that and you can be stuck with charges that happen after the window closes.8Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. 12 CFR 1005.11 – Procedures for Resolving Errors

Either dispute goes faster with proof. Keep the cancellation confirmation email and a screenshot of your subscription status on the day you canceled. Documentation closes disputes; vague recollections drag them out.
