To cancel a Hinge subscription, you have to go through whatever platform originally processed your payment: Apple if you signed up on an iPhone or iPad, Google Play if you signed up on Android, or Hinge’s own web checkout (billed through Stripe) if you subscribed on the website. Deleting the Hinge app or your dating profile does not stop the charges. Neither does uninstalling. You have to cancel the subscription itself, on the platform that owns the billing agreement.
Find Out Who’s Actually Charging You
Check your bank or credit card statement first. Hinge charges appear under names like “HINGE,” “HINGE.CO,” “MATCH GROUP,” or “MTCH*HINGE,” but the descriptor doesn’t tell you which platform is billing you. What tells you is where you signed up. iPhone signup means Apple. Android signup means Google Play. Website signup with a credit card means Stripe. You can also open the Hinge app, tap the gear icon, and look for subscription details there.
Getting this right matters. Canceling on the wrong platform does nothing to the charges on the right one.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top. Tap “Subscriptions,” find Hinge, and tap “Cancel Subscription.”1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple You may need to scroll to find the cancel button. If you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already canceled.
If your phone is lost or broken, you can do the same thing in a browser. Go to account.apple.com, sign in, open your subscriptions, select Hinge, and cancel.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
Either way, your paid features stay active until the end of the billing period you already paid for. After that, your account drops to the free version.
Cancel on Android
Open the Google Play Store app, go to your subscriptions page, select the Hinge subscription, and tap “Cancel subscription.”2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play Follow the prompts to confirm.
You can also reach the same screen through your device settings: Settings, then “Google,” then “Manage your Google Account,” then “Payments & subscriptions,” then “Manage subscriptions.”2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play Pick Hinge and cancel from there.
You keep your paid features until the current billing cycle ends.
Cancel a Web Subscription (Stripe)
If you subscribed through hinge.co with a credit card, billing runs through Stripe. The easiest way to cancel is inside the app: tap the gear icon to open Account Settings, tap “Cancel Subscription,” and follow the prompts.3Hinge. Adjusting or Canceling Your Subscription
No app installed? Hinge provides a cancellation link that opens a Stripe billing portal. Sign in with the email address where you receive Hinge subscription emails, which may be different from the one on your dating profile.3Hinge. Adjusting or Canceling Your Subscription Using the wrong email is a common reason the process fails.
Your premium features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
Deleting the App or Profile Won’t Stop the Charges
Uninstalling the Hinge app does nothing to your subscription. Deleting your Hinge profile usually doesn’t either. If Apple or Google Play is billing you, the subscription lives with that platform and keeps charging you until you cancel it there.4Hinge. How Do I Delete My Account
There’s one exception. If you subscribed directly through Hinge on the web (Stripe), deleting your Hinge account does end the subscription immediately. It also permanently erases your profile, matches, and conversations, and you forfeit any paid time remaining with no refund of that time.4Hinge. How Do I Delete My Account In every case, the safer sequence is the same: cancel the subscription first, use whatever paid time you already bought, then delete the account if you still want to.
Cancel a Free Trial Before It Converts
A Hinge+ or HingeX free trial converts to a paid subscription automatically when it expires. Apple requires you to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid a charge.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple Google Play and Stripe trials should also be canceled at least 24 hours before the next billing period.3Hinge. Adjusting or Canceling Your Subscription
On Apple, canceling a trial early doesn’t shorten it. You still get your remaining trial days, so there’s no reason to wait until the deadline.
Getting a Refund After a Charge
If a charge already hit and you want it back, the refund process depends on who billed you. A refund is possible but not guaranteed.
Apple
Hinge cannot refund purchases made through Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose “Request a refund,” pick a reason, select the Hinge charge, and submit. Apple usually responds within 48 hours and decides case by case.5Apple Support. Request a Refund for Apps or Content That You Bought From Apple
Google Play
Google handles refunds for Play Store subscriptions if it has been less than 48 hours since the charge. After 48 hours, Google directs you to contact the app developer instead.6Google Play Help. Request a Refund on Google Play
Direct Hinge (Stripe)
Hinge accepts refund requests on Stripe-billed subscriptions within 14 days of purchase through its support team. Residents of Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin have a legal right to a full refund within three business days of subscribing.
