You can cancel Helium Mobile at any time with no early termination fee, using the mobile app, your online account at my.hellohelium.com, or customer support.1Helium Mobile Help Center. Cancellation Policy Service continues through the end of your current billing cycle, and you won’t be charged again. If you want to keep your phone number, port it to a new carrier before you cancel; cancelling first can cost you the number.
The Three Ways to Cancel
All three methods produce the same result, so pick whichever is easiest.
In the app, tap into your active line and find the cancellation option in your plan settings, then follow the prompts. You should get an on-screen confirmation that service will not renew.
On the web, sign in at my.hellohelium.com/account and cancel from there. Useful if you’ve deleted the app or don’t have your phone handy.
Through support, contact Helium Mobile directly. Worth trying if the self-service options give you trouble or you have a billing question to resolve at the same time.
Once cancellation is confirmed, your plan runs to the end of the current billing cycle and then stops.2Helium Mobile. Plan Terms and Conditions There are no refunds or prorated credits for unused days, so cancelling on day one saves nothing over cancelling on day twenty-eight.3Helium Mobile. Billing Details
Keep Your Number: Port Before You Cancel
If you want to bring your number to another carrier, do not cancel Helium Mobile first. Start the port with your new provider, and your Helium line will close automatically once the transfer completes.
Get Your Transfer PIN
Dial *PORT (*7678) from your Helium Mobile phone to receive your number transfer PIN.4Helium Mobile Help Center. Phone Number Transferring/Porting It’s a one-time code your new carrier needs to pull the number over, and it expires after seven days, so generate it only when you’re ready to switch.5Helium Mobile Help Center. Billing Details If it expires first, dial *PORT again for a new one.
You’ll also need your account holder name and service address exactly as they appear on your Helium Mobile account. Small mismatches will fail the request, so check your profile before handing anything to the new carrier.
What Happens Next
Your new carrier submits the request; you don’t need to call Helium Mobile or touch the app. Wireless-to-wireless ports often finish within a few hours, and federal rules require simple requests to complete within one business day.6Federal Communications Commission. Porting: Keeping Your Phone Number When You Change Providers When the new carrier successfully claims the number, your Helium Mobile line is cancelled automatically.
If the port fails, the cause is almost always a wrong or expired PIN or a name-and-address mismatch. Fix the discrepancy and have your new carrier resubmit. Helium Mobile cannot block a valid port request.7eCFR. 47 CFR Part 52 Subpart C – Number Portability
If You’re on a Group or Kids Plan
You can leave a group plan at any time without the admin’s permission. When you leave, you’ll be prompted either to set up an individual Helium Mobile plan or to generate port-out details for another carrier.8Helium Mobile Help Center. Group Plans FAQ
Kids lines are different. The group admin must remove the kids line from the group first, and only then can port-out details be generated for that number.8Helium Mobile Help Center. Group Plans FAQ Coordinate with the admin before contacting the new provider.
Don’t Just Stop Paying
Walking away without cancelling has real consequences. After a missed payment, you get a three-day grace period. If it’s still unpaid after that, your account is suspended and service stops.2Helium Mobile. Plan Terms and Conditions
Stay suspended for 15 days and Helium Mobile terminates the account. At that point the company can reassign or eliminate your phone number, and may no longer be able to port it out even if you ask.2Helium Mobile. Plan Terms and Conditions If you’re leaving, cancel properly or port the number first. Letting the account lapse is the one path where you can lose the number for good.
What Happens to Your Tokens, Credit, and Hotspot
Your Helium Mobile Wallet survives cancellation. MOBILE tokens earned through Discovery Mapping or other rewards stay in your wallet and remain accessible after your plan ends, because the wallet lives on the Solana blockchain independently of your subscription.9Helium Mobile. Legacy Plan Terms and Conditions
Prepaid crypto credit is not protected. If you prepaid for service through the Sphere platform and cancel with a positive balance, that balance is forfeited. Helium Mobile’s terms state that prepaid digital asset credit is nonrefundable.9Helium Mobile. Legacy Plan Terms and Conditions If you’ve been paying with crypto, run the balance down before you cancel.
A Helium Mobile hotspot you bought is yours to keep. There’s no return requirement and no non-return fee. Hotspot purchases are also final: no returns, no refunds. Defective units are covered by a 12-month limited warranty for repair or replacement, but not a refund.10Helium. Helium Mobile Hotspot Returns and Warranty
Coming Back Later
Helium Mobile doesn’t offer a pause or vacation mode. To take a break, you cancel and re-enroll later, which means signing up from scratch. If you cancelled without porting, your old number is likely gone. A previously used physical SIM can’t just be reactivated either; replacement SIMs cost $10 plus tax through the app.11Helium Mobile. How to Switch Your SIM Helium Mobile doesn’t publish specific reactivation fees, so re-enrollment appears to follow the same process and pricing as a new sign-up.
