How to Cancel ESPN on Roku: Device, Website, and Disney Bundle

To cancel ESPN on Roku, open your Roku home screen, highlight the ESPN tile, press the Star button on the remote, choose Manage Subscription, and turn off auto-renew. You can do the same thing from a browser at my.roku.com. One important caveat before you start: this only works if Roku is the company billing you. ESPN access that comes through the Disney Bundle has to be canceled with Disney+, not Roku.

Confirm Roku Is Actually Billing You

Check a recent bank or credit card statement. Subscriptions billed through Roku appear as a charge from “Roku,” “Roku for [service name],” or “The Roku Channel.”1Roku. View Your Roku Purchase History and Charges to Your Account If the charge is from ESPN or Disney, you signed up directly with them and need to cancel on their platform. ESPN’s support page confirms that subscriptions billed through a third party like Roku must be managed through that third party.2ESPN Fan Support. • Press the Star button (the asterisk). A sidebar menu opens.

Cancel From the Roku Website

If the remote isn’t nearby, you can do the same thing from any browser:

  • Go to my.roku.com and sign in with the email tied to your Roku account.
  • Open your subscriptions page. Active Roku Pay subscriptions are listed with their terms and renewal dates.
  • Find ESPN under Active Subscriptions and click Manage Subscription.
  • Select Turn Off Auto-Renew and confirm.

The page shows both active and expired subscriptions, so once your current period ends, ESPN should move from active to expired. That’s your confirmation.3Roku Support. Manage or Cancel Subscriptions on Roku

Disney Bundle Subscriptions Can’t Be Canceled Through Roku

If your ESPN access comes through the Disney Bundle (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN together), Roku processes the billing but Disney+ controls the subscription. Roku’s own support page directs you to Disney+ for these.3Roku Support. Manage or Cancel Subscriptions on Roku Visit help.disneyplus.com or call Disney+ support at 888-905-7888. Canceling this way cancels the whole bundle. You can’t drop ESPN alone and keep the others at the bundle price.

What Happens After You Cancel

Access doesn’t cut off the moment you confirm. Turning off auto-renew keeps ESPN active through the rest of the billing period you already paid for. Cancel on day five of a monthly cycle and you still get the remaining days. On an annual plan, you keep access through the end of the year.4Roku. Roku Content and Subscription Refund Policy

Roku does not offer refunds or credits for partially used billing periods. There’s no penalty for canceling late in your cycle and no benefit to canceling early. Pick whenever, and use the service until it runs out.

What to Do When Manage Subscription Isn’t There

Press the Star button on ESPN and sometimes the option just isn’t listed. Common reasons:

  • You didn’t subscribe through Roku. If you signed up through ESPN’s website, the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the Disney Bundle, Roku has nothing to cancel. Recheck your bank statements for the billing source.
  • A sync problem between Roku and the provider. ESPN or Disney+ may point you to Roku while Roku shows no active subscription. Contact the content provider’s support chat directly; users report better luck there than with Roku’s billing line.
  • Outdated Roku software. Go to Settings, then System, then System Update on your device and try again.

If neither Roku nor ESPN will claim the subscription but the charges keep coming, your bank or card issuer is the next stop after you’ve worked both support channels.
