To cancel DashPass, open the DoorDash app or website, go to your account, tap “Manage DashPass,” and select “Cancel Membership.” The deadline that matters: cancel at least 24 hours before your next scheduled payment, or you’ll be billed for another cycle. If you signed up through Apple, Google Play, or a card partner like Chase, you’ll cancel through that platform instead.
Cancel Through DoorDash
Most subscribers signed up through DoorDash directly, and that’s the quickest route.
- Open the DoorDash app on your phone or go to doordash.com.
- Tap the account icon (bottom of the screen on mobile, menu icon on desktop).
- Select “Manage DashPass.”
- Tap “Cancel Membership,” answer the short feedback prompt, and confirm by selecting “Cancel DashPass.”
A confirmation screen appears, and DoorDash sends a confirmation email. Keep that email. It’s your proof if a charge shows up later that shouldn’t.1DoorDash Help Center. How do I cancel my DashPass subscription
Cancel Through Apple, Google Play, or Chase
If a third party is processing your payment, canceling inside the DoorDash app alone won’t stop the billing. You have to go where the money actually comes from.
Apple (iOS)
Open Settings, tap your name, then “Subscriptions.” Find DashPass and tap “Cancel Subscription.”2Apple Support. If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple
Google Play (Android)
Open Settings, tap “Google,” your name, then “Manage your Google Account.” Go to “Payments & subscriptions,” then “Manage subscriptions.” Select DashPass and cancel.3Google Play Help. Cancel, pause, or change a subscription on Google Play
Chase Card Benefit
If you activated DashPass through a Chase card, you can cancel through DoorDash itself. Log in on a web browser, go to “Manage DashPass,” and click “Cancel Membership” (iOS) or “End Subscription” (Android and desktop). Canceling removes the DashPass benefit from your Chase card but doesn’t affect the credit card account.4DoorDash Help Center. DashPass for Chase Card Members (DoorDash Updates)
The 24-Hour Deadline
This is where people get caught. DoorDash requires cancellation at least 24 hours before your next scheduled payment. Miss that window and the next cycle bills. You can find your next payment date inside “Manage DashPass” under “Payment Details.”1DoorDash Help Center. How do I cancel my DashPass subscription
After you cancel, your benefits (reduced fees and free delivery on eligible orders) stay active through the end of the billing period you already paid for. There’s no prorated refund for the remaining days, but you can keep using the perks until the period ends.1DoorDash Help Center. How do I cancel my DashPass subscription
Free Trial Exception
If you’re still in a free trial, canceling ends your benefits immediately. There’s no option to ride out the rest of the trial. If you want full use of the trial, wait until closer to its end, but still cancel before the 24-hour cutoff.1DoorDash Help Center. How do I cancel my DashPass subscription
Pause Instead of Cancel
If you expect to come back in a few weeks or months, DoorDash offers a pause option on the same “Manage DashPass” screen. Pausing stops billing temporarily without ending the membership. DoorDash doesn’t publicly document the maximum pause length, so check the timeframes shown when you select “Pause Membership.”1DoorDash Help Center. How do I cancel my DashPass subscription
Annual and Student Plans
The plan you’re on shapes what cancellation costs you. The standard plan is $9.99 per month. The annual plan is $96 per year, around $8 per month. Students who verify enrollment pay $4.99 per month or $48 per year.5DoorDash Help Center. DashPass for Students
Canceling an annual plan mid-year keeps benefits active through the end of that yearly billing period but typically doesn’t trigger a refund for unused months. One exception: if your annual plan bundles Max (HBO) streaming, you may receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of Max that extends past your DashPass expiration.6DoorDash Help Center. Students switching plan types should cancel the current subscription before the next payment cycle, then re-enroll in the new plan after the current cycle ends. Switching mid-cycle without canceling first can produce overlapping charges.5DoorDash Help Center. DashPass for Students
Refunds and Disputing a Charge
DoorDash doesn’t advertise a formal refund policy for DashPass, but refunds are possible in narrow cases. Your best chance: contact support within 48 hours of an unwanted charge, especially if you haven’t used any DashPass benefits since it posted. The less you’ve used the service after being billed, the stronger the case. Reach support through in-app chat (open the app, go to your orders, select “Help”) or by phone at 855-431-0459.
If DoorDash refuses and you believe the charge was unauthorized, you can dispute it with your bank or card company. Under federal law, you can stop preauthorized recurring payments by notifying your financial institution at least three business days before the next scheduled transfer. Your bank can block future DashPass charges even if DoorDash’s system hasn’t caught up.
Confirm the Charges Stopped
After you cancel, check your bank or card statement when the next billing date passes. The charge appears as “DoorDash DashPass” or simply “DashPass.”7DoorDash Help Center. What is DashPass If the $9.99 monthly fee or $96 annual charge posts after your cancellation confirmation date, contact DoorDash support with the confirmation email attached. If support doesn’t resolve it, file a dispute with your bank. Don’t delete that email until you’ve seen a clean billing cycle.
