To cancel an AI Studio subscription, first work out which product is actually charging you: Google’s AI Studio is free, but the paid plan behind expanded Gemini access is a Google One AI Pro ($19.99 per month) or AI Ultra (starting at $99.99 per month) subscription, while DeepBrain’s AI Studios at aistudios.com is a separate paid video platform with its own billing.1Google One. Google AI Plans with Cloud Storage Cancel through the path that matches how you signed up, or the charges keep coming.
Which Service Is Billing You
Google AI Studio itself has no subscription fee. Recurring charges from Google are almost always a Google One AI plan, which appears under Google One or Google Play subscriptions rather than inside AI Studio. Developers using the Gemini API on pay-as-you-go pricing are on a Google Cloud billing account instead, which is a different animal.
DeepBrain AI Studios is an unrelated company selling AI video tools. If the merchant on your statement is DeepBrain or aistudios.com, that’s where you cancel. When in doubt, check the merchant name on your bank or card statement before touching any settings.
Cancel a Google One AI Plan
How you cancel depends on where you originally subscribed. Google can only cancel what Google sold you directly.
If You Subscribed Through Google
Sign in at one.google.com, open your subscription settings, select the AI plan, and follow the prompts to cancel. The purchase is generally non-refundable, but you keep the paid features through the end of the current billing cycle.2Google One Help. Purchase, Cancellation and Refund Policies After that, the account drops back to the free 15 GB storage tier.
If You Subscribed on Android
Open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select the Google One AI plan, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts.3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
If You Subscribed on iPhone or iPad
Google cannot cancel an Apple-billed subscription for you. Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Find Google One, tap it, and tap Cancel Subscription.4Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple If there’s no cancel button but a red expiration date instead, it’s already set to end.
Cancel DeepBrain AI Studios
DeepBrain’s cancellation flow lives inside the AI Studios dashboard:
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Billing from the dropdown.
- Confirm your current plan type and renewal date on the Billing page.
- Click Cancel Subscription under your subscription details.
- Pick a reason from the list to continue.
- Type at least 30 characters of feedback. The Confirm Cancellation button stays grayed out until you do; something short like “Not using the platform right now” works if you have nothing specific.
- Click Confirm Cancellation, then return to the Billing page to check that it now shows an expiration date and a Renew button.

Stop the Charge Through PayPal
If you paid through PayPal, you can also kill the recurring payment from PayPal’s side. Log in, go to Settings, click Payments, and open Automatic Payments (sometimes labeled Subscriptions and saved businesses). Find the merchant for your AI Studio service, select it, and cancel the agreement.6PayPal. What Is an Automatic Payment and How Do I Update or Cancel One This blocks future draws, but you should still cancel with the service itself; relying on PayPal alone can cause the platform to flag your account as delinquent rather than canceled.
Close a Google Cloud Billing Account for API Usage
If you use the Gemini API through Google AI Studio on pay-as-you-go or prepay billing, there is no Google One plan to cancel. Your charges run through a Google Cloud billing account, and closing it works differently.
Go to the Account Management page in the Google Cloud console, select the billing account, and click Close billing account at the top. You need the Billing Account Administrator role to do this.7Google Cloud Documentation. Close or Reopen Your Cloud Billing Account Two things to know before you click: closing the account stops all billable services across every linked project, including Google Maps, Firebase, and anything else on that account; and any prepay credits are forfeited when the account closes.
To stop AI Studio charges without touching other Google Cloud services, disable billing on just the AI Studio project instead. That drops the project to the free tier, which still allows limited API calls.8Google Cloud Documentation. Enable, Disable, or Change Billing for a Project Charges accrued before you flipped the switch can still post for up to two days afterward, so don’t treat the moment of cancellation as a zero balance.
Invoiced Cloud billing accounts used by organizations cannot be closed through the console. Contact a Google Cloud sales specialist or Cloud Billing Support directly.7Google Cloud Documentation. Close or Reopen Your Cloud Billing Account
Cancel Before a Free Trial Renews
Free trials are where most surprise charges come from. Google’s billing system typically places an authorization hold on your card a few days before renewal, so waiting until the last day is risky. Cancel at least seven days before the trial’s renewal date.9Google One Community. Google AI Pro Plan With a One-Month Free Trial and Canceled It Before the Billing Date, but Charged Once the charge processes, a refund is unlikely.
Set a calendar reminder for a week before the trial ends. Two minutes of work saves $20 to $200 depending on the plan tier.
What About a Refund
Refund policies are less generous than most people expect, and they differ by platform.
Google One AI Plans
Google One purchases are generally non-refundable. You retain paid features through the end of the billing period but do not get money back for unused days in most regions.2Google One Help. Purchase, Cancellation and Refund Policies One distinction matters: if a subscription is canceled and access is immediately terminated rather than running to the end of the cycle, the fee may be automatically reversed; if the service continues to the billing date, no refund is issued.10Google One Community. Refund for Google AI Studio When Google does grant a refund, processing can take up to 14 days on Google’s side and another 60 days for your bank to show it.
DeepBrain AI Studios
DeepBrain refunds only if you request one within 14 calendar days of purchase and have not used the service at all. Creating, editing, or downloading a video, using an avatar, or accessing core features counts as use, and any of those makes you ineligible.11AI Studios. Terms of Use Exceptions apply for duplicate billing or service malfunctions on DeepBrain’s end. Send refund requests to support@aistudios.com or use the Intercom widget in the app, with your account email and order number.
What Happens to Your Account and Data
Canceling is not the same as deleting. For both Google and DeepBrain, your login and project history stay stored after cancellation, and you keep access to paid features through the end of the current billing cycle. Use that window to export anything you want to keep.5AI Studios by DeepBrain AI. How Do I Cancel My AI Studios Subscription
For a Google Cloud billing account, disabling billing on an AI Studio project downgrades it to the free tier rather than deleting anything. Projects and data remain intact unless you manually delete them or the project is shut down for prolonged inactivity. Re-enabling billing later restores paid API access.
Chargebacks Should Be a Last Resort
When cancellation goes sideways, some people file a chargeback with their bank. It works, but the cost can be high: many software companies permanently ban accounts that initiate chargebacks, and a ban means losing access to every file and project on the account with no recovery path. If you have work you might need later, exhaust the other options first. Cancel in the dashboard, cancel through the payment processor, and contact customer support. Save the chargeback for after those fail.
Your Rights Under the FTC Click-to-Cancel Rule
The FTC’s Click-to-Cancel rule requires that canceling a subscription be at least as easy as signing up.12Federal Trade Commission. Federal Trade Commission Announces Final Click-to-Cancel Rule Making It Easier for Consumers to End Recurring Subscriptions and Memberships If you signed up online, the company has to let you cancel online. Phone-only cancellation and retention mazes aren’t allowed.
The rule also requires clear disclosure before billing: that you will be charged, how much and how often, the deadline for canceling to avoid the next charge, and how to cancel. If a service is making cancellation unnecessarily hard, you can file a complaint at ftc.gov, and citing the rule when you contact support often speeds things up on its own.
