To cancel Acorn TV, cancel through whichever service actually bills you: Acorn TV’s website if you signed up directly, or Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or Roku if you subscribed through one of those platforms. Canceling in the wrong place is the single most common reason charges keep appearing. You keep access to the streaming library until the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for, and Acorn TV does not issue prorated refunds for unused time.
Find Out Who’s Actually Billing You
Pull up your credit card or bank statement and look at the merchant name on the Acorn TV charge. That name tells you exactly where to cancel.
- Direct sign-ups at acorn.tv may show as AMC Networks, the parent company that operates Acorn TV.1Acorn TV. Terms and Conditions
- Apple purchases appear as “apple.com/bill.”2Apple Support. Get Help with Charges from apple.com/bill
- Roku charges show as “Roku” or “Roku for [service name].”3Roku. If There’s a Charge You Don’t Recognize on Your Roku Account
- Amazon and Google Play charges use their own names.
- PayPal payments appear as “PAYPAL *ACORN TV.COM.”
Once you’ve matched the charge to a platform, go straight to that platform’s steps below. Nothing you do on Acorn TV’s website will stop a charge coming through Apple, Google, Amazon, or Roku.
Cancel on the Acorn TV Website
Use this path only if you signed up directly at acorn.tv with a credit card or PayPal.
- Log in at acorn.tv from any browser.
- Click “My Acorn TV” in the top-right corner.
- Select “Manage Account” from the dropdown.
- Choose the cancel membership option and follow the prompts.
The same page also lets you change billing details or switch between the monthly and annual plans, so pick the cancellation option specifically.4Acorn TV Help Center. How Can I Manage My Acorn TV Account Details? A confirmation screen shows the date your access ends. Screenshot it.
Cancel Through Apple
If you subscribed through the App Store, an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV, Apple handles the billing.
On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap “Subscriptions,” select Acorn TV, and tap “Cancel Subscription.” You may have to scroll to find the button. If it isn’t there and you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already canceled.
On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, click “Account Settings,” scroll to “Subscriptions,” click “Manage,” find Acorn TV, and click “Cancel Subscription.”
Apple confirms the cancellation on screen, and access continues until the current billing period ends.5Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription from Apple
Cancel Through Google Play
Android subscribers who signed up through the Play Store cancel there. Deleting the Acorn TV app does not stop the billing.
- Open the Google Play app.
- Tap your profile icon, then “Payments & subscriptions,” then “Subscriptions.”
- Select Acorn TV.
- Tap “Cancel subscription” and follow the prompts.

Cancel Through Amazon Prime Video
If Acorn TV is a Prime Video channel on your account, Amazon bills you.
- Sign in to Amazon and open “Account & Settings.”
- Select “Your Subscriptions” from the top menu.
- Find Acorn TV under add-on subscriptions.
- Click “Unsubscribe” and confirm.
The confirmation screen shows your end date. Amazon does not refund previous subscription charges.7Amazon. Cancel Your Prime Video Add-On Subscription
One catch: if your Prime Video add-on is billed through Apple, you need to cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, or you may be charged for the next cycle.7Amazon. Cancel Your Prime Video Add-On Subscription
Cancel Through Roku
If you added Acorn TV through The Roku Channel or as a premium subscription on your Roku, cancel through Roku.
From the device, press Home, highlight Acorn TV in the channel grid, press the Star (*) button, select “Manage subscription,” then “Turn off auto-renew.”
From a browser, go to my.roku.com/subscriptions, sign in, find Acorn TV under “Active Subscriptions,” click “Manage Subscription,” and turn off auto-renew.
If no “Manage subscription” option appears on the device, Roku isn’t the billing platform, and you need to cancel wherever the actual charge originates.
Free Trials and Refunds
New subscribers get a free trial, but the account converts automatically to a paid subscription at the standard rate once the trial ends.8Acorn TV Help Center. How Does the Free Trial Work? A calendar reminder a day before the trial expires is the cleanest way to avoid a surprise charge.
Acorn TV does not offer prorated refunds. Canceling in the middle of a monthly or annual cycle does not put money back on your card. You do keep full access until the end of the period you’ve paid for, regardless of which platform you subscribed through.
Confirm the Cancellation Went Through
Assuming a cancellation worked without checking is how people end up paying for another year.
- Screenshot the confirmation screen or save the confirmation email. If you have to dispute a charge later, that’s your proof.
- Check your next credit card or bank statement after the date the next renewal would have hit. If a new charge shows up, contact the billing platform with your confirmation in hand.
- Log into acorn.tv. Your account should show a pending expiration date rather than an active renewal.
Acorn TV’s support team is reachable at support@acorn.tv and can confirm whether a direct subscription was canceled or help identify which platform is billing you. For subscriptions through Apple, Google, Amazon, or Roku, only that platform’s support can stop the charges.
Your Rights Under Federal Cancellation Rules
The FTC’s click-to-cancel rule, finalized in late 2024, requires companies offering recurring subscriptions to make canceling at least as easy as signing up, and prohibits adding steps that obstruct or delay the cancellation.9Federal Trade Commission. Being forced onto a retention call after signing up with two clicks is the kind of process the rule targets. Complaints go to the FTC at ftc.gov.
