Most recurring TikTok charges are LIVE creator subscriptions billed through Apple or Google, not through TikTok Shop, which handles one-time product purchases. To cancel a TikTok Shop subscription and stop the charges, you need to go to whichever platform is actually billing you: Apple if you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, Google Play if you’re on Android, or TikTok’s website if you signed up on a desktop. Do it at least 24 hours before the next renewal date, or you’ll be charged again.
Check your bank statement first. Apple charges show up as “apple.com/bill.” Google charges appear as “GOOGLE*” followed by the app name. That tells you which set of steps applies.
On iPhone or iPad
Apple processes the renewal on its own, so canceling inside the TikTok app won’t stop the charges. Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find TikTok in the list, tap it, and tap Cancel Subscription. Scroll down if you don’t see the button right away. If TikTok shows an expiration date in red text instead of a cancel option, the subscription is already canceled and will run out on that date.1Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription from Apple
On Android
Android subscriptions run through Google Play. Open the Play Store app, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner, and select Payments & subscriptions. Tap Subscriptions, find TikTok, and tap Cancel subscription. Follow the prompts to confirm. Access stays active until the end of the current billing period.
On Desktop
If you originally subscribed through TikTok’s website, cancel there. Log in at tiktok.com, hover over your profile picture in the top-right corner, and click Settings. Look for LIVE Subscriptions in the left sidebar. Click the three-dot menu next to the creator and select Cancel Auto-Renewal. TikTok may ask why you’re leaving; skip the reason or pick any option to finalize.
Canceling a TikTok Shop Product Order
If you’re actually trying to cancel a physical product order rather than a subscription, that’s a different process. Open the TikTok app, go to your profile, tap the shopping bag icon, and find the order. Buyers can cancel within the first hour after purchase and the cancellation is usually approved automatically. After that, you can still request cancellation as long as the order hasn’t shipped. If the seller doesn’t respond within 24 hours, TikTok Shop approves the cancellation automatically and issues a refund. Once the order reaches “Awaiting Shipment” status, it can no longer be canceled, and you’d have to wait for delivery and start a return.2TikTok Shop. Guide to Managing Order Cancellations
Confirm the Cancellation Registered
After canceling, go back and check. On Apple devices, Settings > your name > Subscriptions should show TikTok with an expiration date, not a renewal date. On Android, TikTok should no longer appear as active under Subscriptions in Google Play. On desktop, the LIVE Subscriptions page should show no active auto-renewals for that creator.
You keep whatever you paid for through the end of the current billing cycle, and no charge should appear after that. Watch your next statement to be sure. If a charge does hit, take a screenshot of the cancellation confirmation before you contact anyone.
If Charges Keep Coming
Continued charges usually mean the cancellation went to the wrong billing system. People often cancel inside TikTok when Apple or Google is actually processing the payment. Recheck the charge description on your statement and repeat the steps for the correct platform.
If the charge is coming from TikTok directly, use TikTok Shop’s contact form at seller-us.tiktok.com/contact-us or the in-app help center, which offers virtual assistance around the clock and live agents during business hours. Have your order ID or transaction details ready.
If that doesn’t resolve it, federal law gives you a backup. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, you can dispute a billing error by sending written notice to your credit card issuer within 60 days of the statement date showing the charge. Your notice must include your name, account number, the amount you believe is wrong, and why. The issuer then has two billing cycles (no more than 90 days) to investigate and respond.3Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 US Code 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors Most card issuers also let you start a chargeback by phone or app, which is simpler than the written process, though they’ll expect you to have tried resolving it with the merchant first.
Your Right to Easy Cancellation
Federal law requires online sellers using recurring billing to provide a straightforward way to stop the charges. The Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act makes it unlawful to charge consumers through negative option features without offering a simple cancellation mechanism.4Congress.gov. If a company buries the cancel option, sends you through repeated retention screens, or forces you to call when you signed up online, that may violate these rules. File a complaint with the FTC at ftc.gov/complaint.
