To cancel a Prose subscription, log into your account at prose.com, open the Subscriptions menu, select Manage My Subscription, scroll to the bottom, and click Cancel My Subscription twice to confirm. The whole process takes about two minutes online, and the second confirmation click is the one that actually ends the subscription.
The Online Cancellation Steps
Sign in with the email and password you used when you first took the consultation quiz, then work through the menu:
- Click the person icon in the top right corner of the homepage.
- Select Subscriptions from the menu.
- Choose Manage My Subscription.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Cancel My Subscription.
- Click Cancel My Subscription a second time to confirm.
Your dashboard should then show the subscription as inactive, and a confirmation email should arrive shortly after. Save that email. If a charge shows up later that shouldn’t, it’s your proof you canceled before the billing date.1Prose. Subscription and Membership
Haircare and skincare subscriptions bill on separate cycles. Canceling one does not touch the other, so run the steps once for each product line you want to stop.
Cancel Before Your Order Starts Processing
Once an order starts processing, Prose cannot cancel it. Canceling the subscription does not undo any order already placed or charged.2Prose. Product FAQs and Customer Service Questions
Prose doesn’t publish an exact cutoff hour for when an order enters production. The safe move is to cancel several days before the next scheduled refill date shown on your dashboard, not the night before. With custom-blended products, waiting until the last minute is how people end up paying for one more shipment they didn’t want.
If You’re Locked Out of Your Account
Email hello@prose.com with the full name on your account and the email address you signed up with so support can verify your identity. The contact form in the Help Center works too. Support is available Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST.3Prose. Get Help from Hair Care Specialists – Contact Prose Hair Team
Expect a response within a few business days. If your next billing date is close, don’t rely on email alone; consider a stop-payment order through your bank as backup.
Pause or Stretch Instead of Canceling
If the real problem is that products pile up faster than you use them, you can slow deliveries without losing your custom formula on file.
Snooze the Next Order
From the subscription page, click Manage Subscription, scroll to Snooze My Subscription, pick a delay of up to 90 days, and confirm the new charge date. Snoozing one subscription does not snooze another, and the snooze does not apply to any order already processing.4Prose. Product FAQs and Customer Service Questions
Change the Refill Frequency
Prose lets you set deliveries every 4, 8, or 12 weeks. On the subscription page, click Edit, pick the new frequency, and save. Changing frequency doesn’t push back an order that’s already scheduled; to delay the next one specifically, use the snooze button.5Prose. Product FAQs and Customer Service Questions
What Canceling Doesn’t Do: Refund the Last Shipment
Canceling stops future orders. It does not refund one you’ve already received. For that, Prose’s return policy, The Prose Promise, covers your first order of haircare, skincare, or supplements: if you don’t love them within 30 days of delivery, contact support for either a free formula adjustment or a full refund. Picking the formula adjustment makes the order ineligible for a refund afterward, so choose carefully. Shipping costs and duties aren’t refundable, and free or complimentary items don’t qualify.6Prose. Returns and The Prose Promise
Stop Payment Through Your Bank as a Backup
If charges keep appearing after you canceled, or support is slow to act before your next billing date, federal law lets you stop a preauthorized recurring electronic payment by notifying your bank or credit union directly. The notice must be given at least three business days before the scheduled charge, and it can be oral or written.7eCFR. 12 CFR 1005.10 – Preauthorized Transfers
If you call the bank to make the request verbally, the bank can require written confirmation within 14 days. Miss that window and the verbal order expires, so send the written version if the bank asks for it.7eCFR. 12 CFR 1005.10 – Preauthorized Transfers
Banks typically charge between $15 and $35 for a stop-payment order. The fee is worth it if you’re stuck in a loop of charges that cancellation didn’t fix.
