How to Cancel a Perspire Membership: Methods, Notice, and Proof

To cancel a Perspire Sauna Studio membership, submit a written request to your home studio or use the cancellation form in the Perspire mobile app under “Manage Membership.” Both routes start a 30-day notice period, so timing your request against your billing date is what determines whether you get charged one more time.

The Two Approved Methods

Perspire’s FAQ directs members to cancel in writing to the studio or through the mobile app.1Perspire Sauna Studio. Infrared Sauna FAQs The Terms and Conditions add a third option, a request through the Contact Us page on the website, and state that “no other methods of removal are approved or authorized.”2Perspire Sauna Studio. Terms and Conditions Take that language literally. Telling front desk staff, calling the studio, or using a third-party cancellation service is not on the approved list.

The app is the fastest path. Open Perspire Sauna Studio, open the menu, tap “Manage Membership,” and complete the cancellation form. When you land on a confirmation screen or receive a confirmation number, screenshot it before you close the app.

If you prefer email, find your studio’s address through the studio locator on Perspire’s website. Each location is independently owned and runs its own billing, so sending a request to the wrong studio wastes your notice period.

What to Put in the Request

Give the studio everything it needs to pull up your account on the first read:

  • Your full name as it appears on the membership agreement.
  • The specific studio location where you signed up.
  • Your member ID or the email address linked to the account.
  • A clear statement that you are requesting cancellation of your membership.

Keep it short. Burying the cancellation inside a longer message about your experience gives a studio room to treat the email as feedback rather than a formal request.

Timing the 30-Day Notice

Perspire membership agreements commonly require 30 days’ written notice before cancellation takes effect. The clock starts when the studio receives your request, not when you decide to stop going. If your next billing date falls inside that 30-day window, expect one more charge to process.

The math is straightforward. If you’re billed on the 15th and you send your request on the 1st, the notice period carries you past the 15th and you get billed once more. To avoid that final charge, submit your cancellation at least 30 days before your next billing date, and add a few days of cushion for processing.

Your membership stays active through the notice period, so you can keep using the saunas until access ends.1Perspire Sauna Studio. Infrared Sauna FAQs

Pause Instead if You’re Coming Back

If you’re canceling because of a temporary situation, a pause may serve you better. Perspire lets members pause their membership for one or two months along the billing cycle. During a pause, you aren’t billed and you can’t use or catch up on sessions.1Perspire Sauna Studio. Infrared Sauna FAQs The pause preserves your rate and avoids any early termination fee that might apply if you canceled outright.

Unused Sessions and Early Termination

Two things catch canceling members off guard. First, any accumulated sessions or credits are forfeited once the membership ends, and the studio will not refund unused sessions.1Perspire Sauna Studio. Infrared Sauna FAQs Check your balance before you submit the request and use what you can during the notice period.

Second, some memberships include a term commitment in exchange for a lower rate. Canceling before that term ends may trigger an early termination fee. The amount depends on your specific agreement, which varies by studio and plan. Pull up your signed contract, in your email or through the studio, before assuming you can walk away without a charge.

Keep Proof of Everything

Cancellation disputes are won by the member who has a screenshot, a confirmation email, or a timestamped sent message. Save the app confirmation, save the email you sent, and save any acknowledgment the studio sends back.

If a written acknowledgment doesn’t arrive within a few business days, follow up. Reference the date of your original request and ask for confirmation in writing. Silence is not consent to cancel.

Watch your bank or card statements for at least two full billing cycles after your expected termination date. One charge during the 30-day notice is normal. Anything after that is a billing error.

If Charges Keep Coming After You Cancel

Your options depend on how you pay.

For credit card payments, federal law gives you 60 days from the date of the statement containing the disputed charge to submit a written dispute to your card issuer.3Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors Include your cancellation confirmation, your submission screenshot, and any acknowledgment from the studio.

For direct ACH drafts from a bank account, a different rule applies. You must report unauthorized transfers within 60 days of receiving the statement showing the charge. If you report within two business days of discovering the problem, your liability for unauthorized charges is capped at $50. Wait longer than that and exposure rises to $500.4Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Regulation 1005.6 – Liability of Consumer for Unauthorized Transfers Check statements promptly after you cancel so the short window doesn’t close on you.
