To cancel a PDF Guru subscription, go to the platform you originally signed up through — pdfguru.com, the Apple App Store, Google Play, or PayPal — and cancel there, or email support@pdfguru.com and request cancellation in writing. If you’re still in a trial, you have to cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, otherwise the $0.99 or $1.99 trial rolls into a $49.99 monthly charge.1PDF Guru. Subscription Terms
Before you start, find your original confirmation email. It tells you which platform billed you and when the trial began, and those two facts determine which of the steps below actually applies to you. Deleting the PDF Guru app does not cancel anything.
Cancel on the PDF Guru Website
If you subscribed directly at pdfguru.com, log in with the email and password from sign-up. Open your account settings or subscription management area to see your plan and billing cycle, then choose the cancel or “cancel auto-renewal” option and follow the prompts. A confirmation screen should appear with the date your access ends.1PDF Guru. Subscription Terms
Screenshot that confirmation. If a charge shows up anyway, it’s your proof you canceled inside the window. If you can’t find a cancellation option in the dashboard at all, skip to the support email step below.
Cancel Through the Apple App Store
If you signed up on an iPhone or iPad, PDF Guru’s website can’t cancel it. Apple handles the billing, so you have to cancel through your Apple ID:2Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the PDF Guru subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
If there’s no Cancel button, or you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already canceled and will end on the date shown.
Cancel Through Google Play
Android users who signed up through the Play Store cancel there, not on the PDF Guru site:3Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
- Open the Google Play app and go to your subscriptions.
- Select the PDF Guru subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
You can also reach the same page through Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Payments & subscriptions > Manage subscriptions. The subscription lives in your Google account, so uninstalling the app does not stop billing.
Cancel Through PayPal
If PayPal is your payment method, you can revoke PDF Guru’s authorization directly, which stops charges even if the merchant’s own system is slow or unresponsive:4PayPal. What Is an Automatic Payment and How Do I Update or Cancel One?
- Log in to PayPal and go to Settings.
- Click Payments.
- Select Subscriptions and saved businesses (or Automatic Payments).
- Find PDF Guru and cancel the automatic payment.
This is one of the more reliable ways to end recurring charges because you’re cutting the payment pipeline itself rather than waiting for the merchant to process a request.
Email PDF Guru Support
When none of the self-service routes work, or you can’t tell which one applies, email support@pdfguru.com and state plainly that you want to cancel your subscription and stop all future charges.1PDF Guru. Subscription Terms Include the email on your account and any order or transaction number from your confirmation. Keep it short. Ask for written confirmation that the cancellation has been processed, and expect a reply within one to three business days. If nothing comes back, follow up and save every message.
One Note on Refunds
Canceling stops future charges. It does not automatically undo a charge that has already posted. PDF Guru’s refund policy covers technical issues with the product only, and asks for evidence like screenshots or recordings; refunds for changing your mind or accidental purchases are refused. EU residents have a separate 14-day withdrawal right under EU consumer law.5PDF Guru. Refund Policy For everyone else, canceling before the next billing date is far more reliable than chasing a refund after.
If Charges Continue After You Cancel
Sometimes charges keep posting even after a clean cancellation. You have several layers of protection, and it’s worth using more than one at the same time.
Dispute a Credit Card Charge
If you paid with a credit card, the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you 60 days from the date of the billing statement to dispute an unauthorized or incorrect charge in writing with your card issuer.6Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1666 – Correction of Billing Errors The issuer must acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles. Send the dispute to the billing inquiries address on your statement, not the general customer service address, and include your cancellation confirmation, any emails to PDF Guru, and the date you canceled.
Dispute a Debit Card or Bank Charge
For debit card transactions, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act requires your bank to investigate within 10 business days of receiving your error notice. The bank may issue a provisional credit while investigating, and the full investigation must conclude within 45 days.7Office of the Law Revision Counsel. 15 USC 1693f – Error Resolution If the bank finds the charge was unauthorized, it has to correct the error within one business day.8Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. 12 CFR 1005.11 – Procedures for Resolving Errors
Place a Stop Payment Order
Your bank can also place a stop payment order blocking future charges from PDF Guru. Under the Uniform Commercial Code, a stop payment order stays active for six months and can be renewed for additional six-month periods.9Legal Information Institute. UCC 4-403 – Customer’s Right to Stop Payment Oral requests expire after 14 days unless confirmed in writing, so always follow up in writing. Banks typically charge $20 to $35 for the service.
File a Complaint With the FTC
If charges continue after a clear cancellation, you can report the company at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. The FTC’s click-to-cancel rule requires sellers to make cancellation as easy as sign-up.10Federal Trade Commission. Federal Trade Commission Announces Final Click-to-Cancel Rule Making It Easier for Consumers to End Recurring Subscriptions A complaint won’t get your money back on its own, but it feeds into the FTC’s enforcement pipeline while your card or bank dispute handles the refund side.
