How to Cancel a Melaleuca Backup Order: Deadlines, Returns, and Refunds

You cannot cancel a Melaleuca backup order on its own while keeping your membership, because the backup is built into the membership itself. To stop it, you have three real choices: place your own order of at least 35 product points before the monthly deadline, customize the backup so it ships products you actually want, or cancel your Melaleuca membership entirely. Here is how to cancel a Melaleuca backup order using each of those paths, along with the deadlines that decide whether your action takes effect this month or next.

Why You Can’t Just Delete the Backup

Melaleuca requires every member to order at least 35 product points each month. If you don’t place your own order by the cutoff, a preset backup ships automatically and your payment method on file is charged, typically around $75. The company frames the backup as a safeguard that keeps membership benefits active if you forget to shop.1Melaleuca. FAQ – Orders

If you never chose a backup yourself, Melaleuca assigns one of its preset packs (Member’s Choice Pack, the same pack with a Vitality Vitamin Pack added, or the Peak Performance Nutrition Pack) to your account.1Melaleuca. FAQ – Orders That is why members are often surprised by a box they didn’t order. There is no setting that turns the backup off while leaving the membership intact.

Place Your Own Order Before the Monthly Deadline

The simplest way to stop a backup is to beat it with your own order. You have until midnight Mountain Time on the last day of the month to order online or by phone. If the last day is a Sunday, order by the Saturday before. Mailed orders should arrive by the 15th of the month, and no later than the last day.1Melaleuca. FAQ – Orders

Reach 35 product points before that cutoff and the backup won’t ship. Miss it by a day and the backup processes automatically. Once any order is placed through the system, it cannot be changed or canceled, so calling in after the fact will not stop a backup that has already gone through.1Melaleuca. FAQ – Orders

Customize the Backup If You’re Keeping the Membership

If you plan to stay a member but want to control what ships when you forget, customize the backup so it contains products you’ll actually use. There are two ways to do this:1Melaleuca. FAQ – Orders

  • Online, by logging in and going to melaleuca.com/my-account/backup-order, where you can choose the backup type and pick specific products.
  • By phone, by calling customer service at 1 (208) 534-3000 and asking a representative to set up or change your customized backup.

Make the change well before the end of the month. Waiting until the final days risks the old backup processing before your update takes effect.

Cancel Your Membership to Stop Backups Permanently

The only way to end backup orders for good is to cancel the membership. A signed cancellation must reach Melaleuca no later than 5:00 PM Mountain Standard Time on the last day of the month to take effect that month.2Melaleuca. General Membership Questions
