To cancel a Google subscription, go to the platform that bills you: Google Play on Android, play.google.com in a browser, or the Settings app on an iPhone or iPad if you signed up through Apple. Uninstalling the app does not stop the charges. Canceling stops future billing but leaves your access in place until the current billing period ends.1Google One Help. Cancel on Android Through Google Play
Open the Play Store app or go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Select the subscription you want to end, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the prompts to confirm.2Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
After you confirm, Google sends a confirmation email to the address on the account. If it doesn’t arrive, go back to your subscriptions page and check whether the item still shows as active. For Google One storage plans, you can also verify status at google.com/settings/storage, which shows your current plan and any pending cancellation.
Cancel From a Web Browser
Go to play.google.com and sign in with the Google account tied to the subscription. Open your subscriptions page, find the service, click Manage, then Cancel subscription. A few Google services live outside Google Play. Google Store subscriptions, such as Pixel hardware protection plans, are managed at store.google.com/subscriptions. Cancel a Subscription Billed Through Apple
If you signed up for YouTube Premium, Google One, or another Google service through an iPhone or iPad app, Apple handles the billing, not Google. You cannot cancel it through Google Play or your Google account dashboard.
On the device, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find the Google service, tap it, and tap Cancel Subscription. Google One Storage
Every Google account comes with 15 GB of free storage shared across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos. If your files exceed 15 GB when a paid Google One plan expires, you cannot upload new files, back up photos, or create new documents in Docs or Sheets. Gmail is also affected: messages sent to you may bounce back to the sender.6Google One. How Your Google Storage Works
Google won’t delete your existing files right away, but the account stays restricted until you free up space or resubscribe. If you know cancellation is coming, clean up your storage first so you don’t get locked out of email.
Family Plans
If you manage a family plan, canceling affects everyone in the group. For Google One, all family members lose access to the shared extra storage and member benefits, and each person reverts to the default 15 GB.1Google One Help. Refunds
Google’s refund rules vary by service and aren’t generous. Google One storage purchases are generally non-refundable; you keep the storage through the end of the billing cycle but don’t get money back for unused time.7Google One Help. Purchase, Cancellation and Refund Policies Some countries and regions, notably in the European Economic Area, allow immediate cancellation with a partial refund, but that is not available everywhere.
For unauthorized charges on any Google Play purchase, you have 120 days from the transaction date to report the charge and request a refund.8Google Play Help. Learn About Google Play Refund Policies For subscriptions billed through Apple, refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com. Sign in, choose Request a refund, select a reason, pick the subscription, and submit. Expect a response in 24 to 48 hours.9Apple Support. Google Workspace Is Different
The steps above cover personal subscriptions like YouTube Premium and Google One. Google Workspace runs on separate rules. Cancellation happens in the Google Admin console under Billing, then Subscriptions, and you need the billing management privilege to do it. On a flexible month-to-month plan, you are billed only for the days you used the service. On an annual or fixed-term contract, you owe the remaining balance regardless of when you cancel.10Google Workspace Help.
