How to Cancel a Fangoria Subscription: Methods, Timing, and Refunds

To cancel a Fangoria subscription, email subscriptions@fangoria.com asking to stop future billing, or log in at shop.fangoria.com and turn off auto-renewal in your account settings. If your subscription was set up through Apple, Google, or Amazon, you have to cancel inside that app store instead. Fangoria treats all sales as final, so the only way to avoid another charge is to cancel before your next renewal date.

First, Find Out Who’s Actually Billing You

Pull up a recent credit card or bank statement and look at the merchant name on the Fangoria charge. If it reads as Fangoria or the Fangoria shop, you were billed directly and you can cancel through the website or by email. If the charge shows Apple, Google, or Amazon, the subscription runs through that platform’s billing system and emailing Fangoria won’t stop it.

While you’re at it, confirm the email address you used to sign up. The welcome receipt in your inbox is the fastest way to check. You’ll need that email to log in or to request cancellation.

Turn Off Auto-Renewal in Your Account

Fangoria’s refund and cancellation policy says auto-renewal can be switched off through your account settings.1FANGORIA. Refund and Cancellation Policy Sign in at shop.fangoria.com/account/login using the email and password from sign-up, then look for the subscription management or auto-renewal control. Disabling it stops the next scheduled charge.

Forgot your password? Use the reset link on the login page. Not sure which email you used? Scan old statements for the date of the first Fangoria charge, then search your email accounts around that date for a welcome or receipt message.

Send a Cancellation Email

The same address handles billing and shipping changes too.3FANGORIA. FANGORIA Subscription FAQ

Save a copy of your message and any reply. If you don’t hear back within a few business days, follow up, and if the renewal date is close, start lining up the dispute options below.

Timing Matters Because Refunds Don’t Exist

Fangoria’s policy is blunt: all sales are final and no refunds are currently offered.1FANGORIA. Refund and Cancellation Policy If an annual plan renews on Monday and you cancel on Tuesday, you don’t get a prorated return of the remaining eleven months. Cancel before the renewal date, not after.

Fangoria doesn’t publish a specific pre-renewal deadline, so build in a buffer. Act at least a week before your billing date to leave room for processing and slow email replies.

What Happens After You Cancel

Canceling stops the next charge but doesn’t cut off your access immediately. You keep digital content and any remaining print issues through the end of the period you already paid for. Print subscribers may still get one final issue if the shipping label was generated before the cancellation registered.

Watch for a confirmation email, whether from Fangoria or the app store, and save it. That receipt is your proof if a charge shows up after the cancellation date. If nothing arrives within a day or two, follow up. A canceled subscription with no paper trail is one you can’t prove you canceled.

If You Get Charged Anyway

If a charge posts after you canceled and Fangoria isn’t fixing it, federal law gives you two different tools depending on how the money moved.

Stopping a Bank Debit

If the charge comes straight out of your bank account rather than a credit card, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act lets you order your bank to stop a preauthorized recurring transfer by notifying the bank at least three business days before the next scheduled payment.7Office of the Law Revision Counsel. United States Code Title 15 – 1693e Preauthorized Transfers You can call or write; if you call, the bank may require written confirmation within 14 days. You’re telling the bank, not Fangoria, and the bank blocks the charge at the source.

Disputing a Credit Card Charge

For credit card charges, the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you 60 days from the date the statement containing the error was sent to dispute it in writing with your card issuer.8Office of the Law Revision Counsel. United States Code Title 15 – 1666 Correction of Billing Errors Mail your dispute to the billing inquiry address printed on your statement. Include your name, account number, the amount, and why the charge is wrong, and attach your cancellation confirmation if you have one. The issuer has to acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two billing cycles.9Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges

While the dispute is open, you can withhold payment on the disputed amount, and the issuer can’t report you as delinquent on that charge or send it to collections. Federal law caps your liability for unauthorized credit card charges at $50, and most issuers waive even that.
