To cancel a Blink account, you actually have two jobs: stop the subscription that bills you for cloud storage, and then delete your Blink user profile if you want your data wiped. The subscription is handled by whichever store sold it to you (Amazon in most cases, Apple if you signed up on an iPhone), while the account itself is deleted from inside the Blink app. Doing these in the wrong order is how people end up paying for a service that no longer exists on their end, or losing footage they meant to keep.

Cancel the Subscription on Amazon First
Blink subscriptions are billed through Amazon, so you cancel them on Amazon’s site rather than inside the Blink app. Sign in to the Amazon account linked to your Blink cameras, open your account settings, and go to “Memberships & Subscriptions.” Your Blink Basic or Blink Plus plan will be listed there as active.2Blink Support. Select the Blink plan, choose to cancel, and click through the confirmation screens. A confirmation email should arrive within minutes. Save it. If a charge shows up later, that email is your evidence.
What Happens After You Cancel
The outcome depends on where you bought the plan. If you subscribed directly through Blink’s website, cloud storage features stay active until the end of the current billing period, so you keep access through the date you already paid for.3Blink Smart Security. Blink Subscription Plan Terms
If you subscribed through Amazon on a yearly plan, the rule is different: benefits stop immediately, and Amazon issues a prorated refund for the unused portion.4Blink Support. If You Subscribed Through Apple
If you signed up for Blink Plus inside the Blink app on an iPhone or iPad, Apple is your biller and the subscription will not appear on Amazon. Cancel it through iOS instead:5Blink Support. Subscriptions FAQ
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap “Subscriptions.”
- Find the Blink subscription and tap “Cancel Subscription.”
If there’s no cancel button, or you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already canceled. People who go hunting on Amazon and come up empty usually subscribed through Apple without realizing it. Check your Apple receipts before assuming something is wrong.
Free Trials Do Not Auto-Convert
New Blink cameras come with a 7-day free trial of the Plus plan. It does not automatically roll into a paid subscription. When the trial expires, cloud recording just stops and existing clips get deleted based on your app settings.6Blink Support. Delete Your Blink Account
Deleting the account is a separate action from canceling, and it is permanent. It wipes your profile, erases all cloud-stored clips, and removes every camera from your account. Blink support cannot restore any of it afterward.7Blink Support. How Do I Delete My Account

Once the subscription is handled, open the Blink app and:
- Tap “Settings” at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap “Account and Privacy,” then “Account Management.”
- Scroll to the bottom and select “Delete Account.”
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Selling or Giving Away the Cameras
Deleting the account releases the cameras so they can be registered to a new Blink account, which makes it the right step before selling or handing them off.7Blink Support. On the Blink Mini, for example, pressing reset only puts the camera back into setup mode; it does not remove the camera from your account or reset its settings.8Blink Support. Keeping the Cameras Without a Subscription
Canceling does not brick your cameras. Live view still works, though it’s capped at five minutes per session without a paid plan.9Blink Smart Security. Plans Motion alerts still fire. What you lose is cloud saving of clips.
Local storage is the workaround: a Sync Module 2 with a USB drive, or a Sync Module XR with a microSD card, will save motion clips without a monthly fee.10Blink Support. Local Storage with Sync Module Older cameras like the original XT and XT2 don’t support local storage, so cancellation on those setups means giving up recording entirely.
If a Charge Continues or You Can’t Find the Subscription
If your Blink plan isn’t listed under Amazon’s “Memberships & Subscriptions,” check whether you subscribed through Apple’s App Store, and confirm you’re signed into the Amazon account actually linked to your cameras rather than a second one.
