To cancel a Better CV subscription, sign in to the website, open your account settings, and use the Subscription tab, or email help@bettercv.com from the address on your account. If you signed up through Apple, Google Play, or PayPal, you have to cancel inside that platform instead — the website can’t stop those charges.1BetterCV. Cancel From Your Account Settings
This is the fastest route. Log into your Better CV account, open account settings, and click the Subscription tab. From there you can cancel outright or move to a lower tier.2BetterCV. Contact Us Expect a retention flow along the way: discount offers, questions about why you’re leaving, extra confirmation screens. Click through until you see a message confirming the plan has been canceled or changed, and take a screenshot. That confirmation is your evidence if a charge appears later.
Cancel by Email
If you can’t get into the account or you want a written record, Better CV’s terms let you cancel by writing to help@bettercv.com.3BetterCV. Lost access to the registration email? Say so in your message and include enough identifying detail — the last four digits of the card on file, for example — so support can find the account.
If You Subscribed Through Apple, Google Play, or PayPal
Canceling on the Better CV website will not stop charges billed through a third-party store or processor. You have to cancel where the payment actually runs.
Apple
Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Find Better CV, open it, and tap Cancel Subscription. Apple shows the date your access ends.4Apple Support. If You Want to Cancel a Subscription From Apple
Google Play

PayPal
Log in to PayPal, go to Settings, then Payments, then Subscriptions and Saved Businesses (or Automatic Payments). Select Better CV and cancel the automatic payment. Will You Get a Refund?
Usually not. Better CV’s subscription fees are non-refundable, and canceling mid-cycle does not trigger a prorated refund for the unused portion.1BetterCV. BetterCV Subscription Policy This catches a lot of people when a trial rolls over into a paid plan.
There is one narrow exception. Residents of the European Economic Area or Switzerland can exercise a withdrawal right within seven days of entering the subscription contract by emailing help@bettercv.com before the window closes.1BetterCV. BetterCV Subscription Policy Outside that window, the standard no-refund rule applies.
What Happens to Your Account and Files
After cancellation, the account typically drops to a free or basic tier. Premium features stay available through the last day of the billing period you already paid for, and no further charges apply.3BetterCV. Terms of Use and Service Better CV’s policies do not spell out whether resumes and cover letters remain downloadable once premium access ends. Save copies of everything you want to keep before the subscription lapses. PDF is the safest format because it preserves the layout no matter what happens to the account later.
Deleting Your Account Is a Separate Step
Canceling a subscription stops future billing. It does not delete the account or wipe your personal information. To have your data removed, email help@bettercv.com with a deletion request.2BetterCV. If Charges Keep Coming After You Cancel
Start with the confirmation you saved. Forward it to help@bettercv.com or billing@bettercv.com and ask for the charge to be reversed.2BetterCV. Contact Us
If that goes nowhere, dispute the charge with your card issuer or bank. For a credit card, the Fair Credit Billing Act gives you 60 days from the statement date to file a written dispute; send it to the billing-inquiries address on the statement, not the payment address, and include your cancellation confirmation. For a debit card or bank account payment, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act sets up a similar process through your bank, again within 60 days of the statement.
A stop payment order through your bank can block future charges from a specific merchant as a last resort. Banks generally charge a fee for this, often in the $20 to $35 range, so it’s worth working the free dispute channels first. Federal law, including the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act, requires online sellers to give customers simple ways to end recurring charges,7Congress.gov. Public Law 111-345 – Restore Online Shoppers Confidence Act and the FTC’s updated Negative Option Rule, enforceable since July 2025, requires that cancellation be as easy as sign-up. A company that makes cancellation unnecessarily difficult may itself be violating federal rules.
