How to Cancel a BDO Auto Charge or Auto Debit Arrangement

To cancel a BDO Auto Charge enrollment, you have to send BDO a written letter asking for the cancellation. There is no option to cancel through BDO Online Banking, the BDO Pay app, or the hotline. The cancellation takes effect 15 days after BDO receives your letter, and during that window your enrolled bills can still be charged to your credit card.1BDO. Auto Charge

What to Put in the Cancellation Letter

BDO does not publish a template or a list of required fields. To avoid delays, write a short, dated letter that includes your full name as it appears on the card, your credit card number or at least its last four digits, the name and account number of each biller you want removed from Auto Charge, and a clear statement that you are requesting cancellation of the Auto Charge enrollment. Sign it. Keep a copy. If you mail it rather than hand it in at a branch, use a method that gives you proof of delivery, because the 15-day clock runs from BDO’s receipt.

What Happens During the 15-Day Window

Until the cancellation becomes effective, billers can still post charges to your card, and you remain liable for them. Once the cancellation takes effect, the automated facility stops paying those bills and you become responsible for settling each one directly with the merchant or service provider.1BDO. If Someone Else’s Bill Is Enrolled on Your Card

If the Auto Charge covers a bill that belongs to another person, such as a relative’s utility account, you are solely responsible for telling that person about the cancellation. BDO’s terms require you to indemnify the bank against any claim that arises from a failure or delay in giving that notice.1BDO. Auto Charge

If a Charge Still Posts After Cancellation

If a charge appears on your card after the 15-day period has run, contact BDO’s Customer Contact Center to dispute it. The main numbers are (+632) 8888-0000 for Metro Manila, #8888-0000 for PLDT or Globelines lines outside Metro Manila, and (IAC)+800-8-CALLBDO (2255-236) internationally. Email is callcenter@bdo.com.ph. BDO aims to resolve complaints within 7 to 10 banking days and will provide updates if more time is needed.2BDO. Escalating to the BSP

If BDO’s response is unsatisfactory, you can escalate to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Under Republic Act No. 11765 and BSP Circular No. 1160, banks are required to deal fairly with consumers and keep effective complaint-handling processes in place.3BSP. BSP Circular No. 1160 You must raise the matter with BDO first, then file with the BSP’s Consumer Assistance Mechanism through the BSP Online Buddy (BOB) chatbot, email to consumeraffairs@bsp.gov.ph with a copy of your original complaint and BDO’s response, phone at (02) 5306-2584, or a walk-in at the Consumer Assistance Desk at BSP HUB, A. Mabini Street, Malate, Manila. A BSP Consumer Specialist evaluates or forwards the complaint within seven banking days of receipt.4BSP. Consumer Assistance Channels

When BDO Cancels Auto Charge on Its Own

BDO reserves the right, at its “absolute discretion,” to reject, cancel, or dis-enroll any Auto Charge authorization at any time, with or without notice.1BDO. Auto Charge Grounds include insufficient credit, an overdue balance on the merchant account or the credit card, a suspended or past-due card, or cancellation of the card itself. If BDO’s payment agreement with a specific biller ends, the bank will notify you within a “reasonable time.”

If the underlying credit card is cancelled, all Auto Charge enrollments tied to it end automatically, and you have to pay the affected billers directly from then on. If the card is lost, stolen, upgraded, or downgraded, BDO is authorized to re-enroll the replacement card in your existing Auto Charge arrangements, so recurring payments continue without a new enrollment.1BDO. Auto Charge Is Not the Same as Auto Debit Arrangement

If your recurring payments come out of a BDO savings or checking account rather than a credit card, that is the Auto Debit Arrangement (ADA), and the cancellation process is different. You complete and sign the ADA Enrollment/Cancellation Form, choose the cancellation option for the relevant biller, and submit it to your maintaining branch.5Manulife. BDO Auto-Debit Arrangement Form Written notice has to reach BDO at least seven days before the intended termination date, and until that notice period runs, debits can still post. BDO will also dis-enroll an ADA automatically if three consecutive transactions are rejected, such as for insufficient funds.6BDO. Auto-Debit Arrangement
