A Google Poppo Live charge on your bank or credit card statement is an in-app purchase made inside Poppo Live, a mobile live-streaming app, and processed through the Google Play Store. Google’s name shows up because Google Play is the merchant of record for every transaction made in the app, not Poppo Live itself. If you didn’t authorize the charge or want your money back, you have three moves available: request a refund through Google Play, dispute the charge with your bank, and cancel any active subscription so it doesn’t happen again.
What the Charge Actually Represents
Poppo Live users buy bundles of in-app coins and spend them on virtual gifts sent to broadcasters during live streams. Coin bundles run from roughly $10 for the smallest package up to $1,000 for the largest. The app also sells premium memberships that renew automatically each month.
That distinction matters. A one-time coin purchase is a single hit on your statement and won’t repeat. An active subscription keeps billing on its own cycle until you cancel it. On your statement, either type generally appears as “GOOGLE *POPPO LIVE” or “GOOGLE *Poppo,” with the dollar amount matching whatever tier was purchased.1Google. Finding the Transaction Details
Before you request a refund or file a dispute, pull up the exact transaction. Every Google Play purchase has an order number formatted GPA.XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX, and a receipt goes to the Gmail address on the Google account that made the purchase.
To view your purchase history, sign in at pay.google.com with the Google account tied to the payment method, click Activity, and open the Poppo Live entry to see the order number, date, and amount. The same information lives in the Google Play app under your profile icon, in Payments & subscriptions.2Google Help. Requesting a Refund From Google Play
Your best odds of an approved refund are within 48 hours of the purchase. Inside that window, Google’s system can issue an automated refund. After 48 hours pass, Google routes you to the app developer, and whatever refund policy the developer keeps controls the outcome.3Google Play Help. Apps, Games, and In-App Purchases (Including Subscriptions) Refund Policies One limit worth knowing: if Google previously refunded you for the same app or bundle, it won’t approve a second refund for another one.
To start the request, open your Google Play purchase history, select the Poppo Live charge, and choose the refund option. You’ll pick a reason such as an accidental purchase. For charges you don’t recognize at all, Google has a separate workflow for unrecognized charges that also flags potential account misuse.4Google Play Help. Report Unrecognized Google Play Charges
If Google approves the refund, timing depends on how you paid. Credit and debit card refunds usually take three to five business days, though some card issuers stretch to ten. Google Play balance refunds normally arrive within one business day. PayPal refunds run three to five business days.5Google Play Help. Refund Timelines for Google Play Purchases
Disputing the Charge With Your Bank
A bank dispute is a separate remedy from a Google refund. You can use it if Google denies your request, or if you believe someone used your card without permission. The rules are different for debit and credit.
Debit Card Charges
Federal rules cap your liability for unauthorized debit card transactions, but only if you speak up quickly. Notify your bank within two business days of learning about the charge and your maximum liability is $50. Report after two days but within 60 days of the statement date, and exposure rises to $500. Miss the 60-day window entirely, and you can be liable for the full amount of unauthorized transfers that occur after that deadline.6Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. 12 CFR 1005.6 – Liability of Consumer for Unauthorized Transfers The clock runs from when the bank sends the statement listing the charge, so review statements as they arrive.
Credit Card Charges
Credit card protections are stronger. Send written notice of an unauthorized charge to your card issuer within 60 days of the statement that first shows it. The issuer must acknowledge the dispute within 30 days and resolve the investigation within two billing cycles, capped at 90 days.7Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. 12 CFR 1026.13 – Billing Error Resolution While the dispute is open, you don’t have to pay the disputed amount, and the issuer can’t report it delinquent or send it to collections.
Canceling the Subscription So It Stops
If the charge came from a Poppo Live subscription instead of a coin purchase, canceling is what stops the next bill. In the Google Play app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select Poppo Live and tap Cancel subscription.8Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play Access continues through the end of the billing period you already paid for, and no further charges post after that.
From a desktop, sign in at payments.google.com, click Subscriptions & services, and choose Cancel subscription under the Poppo Live entry.2Google Help. Manage Recurring Payments and Subscriptions If the cancel button doesn’t appear on the desktop page, cancel through the Play app instead.
If Nobody in Your Household Uses the App
A Poppo Live charge that nobody made is a warning sign that your Google account or payment method has been compromised. Change the Google account password, turn on two-factor authentication, and review recent account activity for logins you don’t recognize. Then run the refund and dispute steps above to recover the money.
Poppo Live has also been tied to an advance-fee scam pattern in which users are recruited with promises of payment for streaming a set number of hours, receive small early payouts to build trust, and are then told to buy coins or pay an “upgrade fee” to release their earnings. The withdrawal never comes. If that describes how the charges accumulated, the same refund and dispute paths apply, but the developer is unlikely to be cooperative, so the bank dispute may be your realistic route.
Preventing the Next Surprise Charge
Many unexpected Poppo Live charges trace back to a child using a parent’s phone or an adult tapping through a purchase prompt without registering it. Google Play requires purchase verification by default, but the setting can be changed. In the Play app, go to your profile icon, then Settings, Payments & subscriptions, and Purchase Verification, and confirm it’s set to Always. Turning on biometric verification adds a fingerprint or face check to every purchase and applies to every Google account on the device.9Google Play Help. Purchase Verification for Google Play
