A “Google *Maple Labs” charge on your bank or card statement is a recurring Google Play subscription for a mobile app published by Maple Labs Co., Ltd., a Vietnam-based developer whose free trials automatically convert to paid plans, sometimes at $29.99 or more per cycle.1Maple Labs. Maple Labs Charge Discussion Thread To stop the billing you have to cancel the subscription inside Google Play; refunds and unauthorized-charge claims go through Google as well, with a fallback to your bank if Google’s window has closed.
What Triggered the Charge
Google Play purchases post to statements in the format “GOOGLE*” followed by the developer or app name, so a Maple Labs subscription reads as “GOOGLE*Maple Labs” or a close variant.3Google Play Help. Report Charges You Don’t Recognize on Google Play The charge starts when someone using your device or Google account installs one of the company’s apps and begins a free trial that requires payment information. Maple Labs publishes more than 20 apps on Google Play, including Smart Print – Air Printer App, Voice Command Setup for Alexa, Find My Lost Bluetooth Device, Pdf Scanner – Cam Scan App, AI Camera Translate, Hue Smart Led Light Controller, and a VPN service.4Google Play. Under the company’s terms, subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current fee at the end of each billing period unless you cancel first, and all fees are listed as non-refundable.5Maple Labs. Maple Labs Policies
One detail catches many people out: uninstalling the app from your phone does not cancel the subscription. The billing agreement lives in your Google account, not on the device, so charges keep coming until you cancel through Google Play’s subscription manager.6Google Play Help. How to Cancel the Subscription
Sign into the Google account that was charged first. If you use more than one account (personal, work, family), the subscription may be tied to a different one than you expect.
On a computer, go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, find the Maple Labs entry, click Manage, then Cancel subscription, and confirm.6Google Play Help. Cancel, Pause, or Change a Subscription on Google Play
On Android, open Settings, tap Google, then Manage your Google Account, then Payments & subscriptions, then Manage subscriptions. Find the Maple Labs entry and cancel it there.7Google Play Help. Find and Manage Subscriptions on Android
If nothing shows up under any of your accounts, the subscription may be tied to another Google account that has used the same device, or your payment information may have been used without your knowledge. Check whether a family member, partner, or child started a trial, and if not, treat the charge as unauthorized (see below).
How to Get a Refund
If you did start the trial and simply forgot to cancel in time, request a refund through Google Play. Google says decisions usually come within one business day and can take up to four. If more than 48 hours have passed since the purchase, Google recommends contacting the developer directly, since developers can process refunds under their own policies.8Google Play Help. Maple Labs’ own policy is that all fees are non-refundable.5Maple Labs. Maple Labs Policies Google’s refund process operates independently of that policy, so it is still worth submitting a request through Google Play even if the developer would refuse.
How to Report an Unauthorized Charge
If you never downloaded a Maple Labs app and no one with access to your account did either, file an unauthorized-transaction claim with Google using the Report Unauthorized Purchases form. You will need your payment method details, the transaction date and amount, and a short explanation. Google typically responds within seven business days.3Google Play Help. Deadlines matter. For credit card, debit card, or PayPal charges, Google can act on transactions within 120 days. For mobile carrier billing, the window is 60 days. Past those deadlines, you have to work with your bank or carrier’s fraud department instead.3Google Play Help. When the charge doesn’t appear in any of your Google accounts’ order histories, a Google Play community expert has recommended calling your bank to dispute it, canceling the compromised card, and requesting a replacement.2Google Play Help Community. Maple Labs Charge Discussion Thread
Preventing Future Charges
Turn on required authentication for every Google Play purchase. With a password or biometric prompt on each transaction, no one else using your device, whether a child, guest, or family member, can start a trial that converts to a paid plan without your approval.
