The FleetCor lockbox payment address is the one printed on your current Corpay invoice or statement, not a single public address, because the lockbox routing is account-specific. The simplest way to get your check to the right place is to detach the remittance coupon from your statement and mail the check in the pre-printed return envelope that came with it. That address is different from Corpay’s general customer service address, and some agreements include a fee for checks sent to the wrong location.
Finding the Correct Lockbox Address
Pull out your most recent statement. The lockbox mailing address is printed on it, and the envelope included with the statement is pre-addressed to that same lockbox. Use the address exactly as printed. It may also differ depending on whether you are using standard mail or an overnight courier, so if you need to send a payment by express service, confirm the courier address with your statement or customer service before shipping.
Do not use Corpay’s general correspondence address for payments. That address, listed in recent client agreements as Attention: Customer Service, Corpay One, P.O. Box 1239, Covington, LA 70434, is for customer service and disputes. Checks sent there bypass the lockbox and have to be rerouted, which delays crediting and, under some agreements, can trigger a misdirected-payment fee.
What a Conforming Check Must Include
Corpay’s client agreements separate check payments into “conforming” and “non-conforming,” and only conforming checks get the fastest crediting. A conforming check meets all four of these conditions:
- One check per account per statement, with no check skirt attached.
- The remittance coupon from the bottom of your statement included in the envelope.
- Your account number written on either the remittance coupon or the check’s memo line.
- Mailed in the pre-printed envelope provided with your statement.
The lockbox bank’s equipment reads the remittance coupon to match your payment to your account automatically. A check without the coupon, or multiple checks bundled for different accounts, forces manual research and slows the credit.
When Your Payment Posts
Conforming check payments received at the lockbox by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on a business day (Monday through Friday, excluding banking holidays) are credited as of the date received.1Fuelman. Corpay Technologies Operating Company, LLC Fuelman Fleet Card Client Agreement Anything arriving after the cut-off, or on a weekend or holiday, posts on the next business day.
Non-conforming payments are credited as of the next business day, or the first day Corpay can identify which account the check belongs to, but no later than two business days after the bank receives the check.1Fuelman. What Happens If a Payment Is Late
Corpay fuel card accounts are not revolving credit. The full balance shown on each statement is due by the due date on that statement. Miss it, and a late fee applies.
The fee depends on your agreement. A recent Fuelman fleet card agreement sets the late fee at the greater of $99 or 17.99% of the “New Balance,” which includes new charges posted through the end of the next billing cycle, not just the overdue amount.1Fuelman. Corpay Technologies Operating Company, LLC Fuelman Fleet Card Client Agreement Older agreements used lower figures, such as $75 or 12.25%.2Fuelman. Unpaid charges and fees roll into principal for the next billing period, and finance charges accrue on the outstanding balance. One missed due date can compound quickly.
Paying Without the Lockbox
Mailing a check is not the only option, and it is often not the best one. The 2024 Fuelman agreement confirms that client-initiated online payments and pay-by-phone payments follow the same crediting timeline as conforming checks: same-day credit if received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on a business day.1Fuelman. Corpay Technologies Operating Company, LLC Fuelman Fleet Card Client Agreement Paying through the online account portal avoids the conforming-check rules entirely and leaves a digital record.
Some older agreements charged convenience fees for phone payments or non-standard payment methods. If your agreement predates the 2023 FTC injunction described below, review the fee schedule or ask customer service what applies before using phone pay.
If a Check Doesn’t Post Correctly
Check your online account portal first. It shows which invoice a payment was applied to and whether it posted at all. If a payment is missing, misapplied, or late to credit, notify Corpay in writing. Include your name, full account number, the statement date, the dollar amount, and a clear description of what went wrong. Attach supporting documentation: a cleared check image from your bank, a mail tracking number, or a screenshot of an online payment confirmation.
Act quickly. Late fees accrue automatically once a due date passes, and getting a dispute on record early strengthens your position if you need to challenge those fees. Send written notices to the customer service address on your statement or in your agreement; recent Corpay agreements list Attention: Customer Service, Corpay One, P.O. Box 1239, Covington, LA 70434. Your agreement may set a deadline for raising disputes, so read that section before you file.
Fee Protections After the FTC Injunction
The Federal Trade Commission sued FleetCor (now Corpay), alleging the company charged customers unauthorized add-on fees and late fees, including late fees on accounts that had paid on time. A federal court issued a permanent injunction in June 2023, and the Eleventh Circuit upheld it in January 2026.3United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Federal Trade Commission v. Corpay, Inc.
Under the injunction, Corpay must obtain your “Express Informed Consent” before charging any fee. That means an affirmative act of agreement from you after a clear disclosure of what the fee is for, the exact amount, whether it recurs, and the circumstances that trigger it.4Federal Trade Commission. Brief of the Federal Trade Commission – FTC v. FleetCor Technologies, Inc. Burying a fee description behind a hyperlink or taking blanket consent for multiple charges at once is prohibited.
If a fee shows up on your statement that you don’t recognize or never agreed to, document the charge, check whether you received the required disclosure before it was assessed, and raise it with customer service in writing. If you believe Corpay is violating the injunction, the FTC accepts complaints at ftc.gov/complaint.
Practical Habits That Prevent Problems
Mail early. A conforming check that arrives two business days before the due date gives you a buffer against weekends, holidays, and the two-business-day ceiling for non-conforming payments. Photograph or scan each check before you mail it, and use a trackable method for large payments. Save confirmation screens from any online or phone payment.
Review every statement line by line, including the fee section. The FTC found Corpay had historically added fees customers hadn’t agreed to and obscured them on billing reports. Catching an incorrect charge within days is far easier than disputing one that sat on three statements before anyone noticed.
