Everyone else can buy discounted gym access starting around $19 a month through a program called Fitness Your Way, take free fitness classes at Florida Blue’s in-person wellness centers, and earn rewards for completing certain health activities.
Free Gym Access for Medicare Advantage Members
If you have a Florida Blue Medicare Advantage plan, SilverSneakers is included at no additional cost. For members on individual, family, and employer plans, the main option is Fitness Your Way, run by Tivity Health through the Blue365 discount portal. This is a discount, not a covered benefit. Gym packages run from $19 to $99 per month plus applicable sales tax, with a $19 enrollment fee. A digital-only package covering virtual workouts is around $7.99 to $10 per month.5Blue365. Which Gyms Participate
The network covers more than 13,000 fitness locations nationwide. Listed brands include Planet Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, Crunch Fitness, Snap Fitness, EoS Fitness, Workout Anytime, and a limited number of YMCA locations that vary by area. Which brands you can actually use depends on the package you choose and where you live. The program is open to U.S. residents aged 18 and older with coverage through a participating health plan. Most Florida Blue and Florida Blue Medicare members qualify. Fitness Your Way also includes live virtual classes in formats like yoga, cardio, and boot camp, plus more than 50,000 on-demand workout videos through Burnalong.5Blue365. A Few Caveats
The Better Business Bureau lists 21 complaints against Fitness Your Way over the past three years. Recurring issues include difficulty canceling (cancellation must be done by phone, not online), website glitches, and inaccurate information about which gyms participate. Free Fitness Classes at Florida Blue Centers

Centers also run wellness programs on diabetes prevention, weight management, heart health, and stress management. You can find the nearest one using the “Find a Center” tool on the Florida Blue website or by calling 877-352-5830. Rewards That Can Offset Health Costs
Florida Blue runs two rewards programs. Neither pays you for gym attendance directly, but both can put money toward health-related costs when you complete wellness activities.
Better You Strides is open to members aged 18 and older on an ACA individual or family plan or a fully insured employer group plan.9Florida Blue. Rewards Program Members earn points for activities like Walking for Wellness, stress management, meal planning, and preventive screenings, at 1,000 points per $10, up to $100 a year including a one-time $30 reward for joining.13BCBS of Florida. Medicare Advantage members have a separate program called HealthyBlue Rewards, which pays for things like completing an annual wellness visit or getting a flu shot. Rewards load onto a Blue Dollars prepaid Mastercard usable at retailers such as CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart for over-the-counter items and healthy foods. Can You Use an HSA or FSA for a Gym Membership?
Usually not. The IRS treats gym memberships and general exercise classes as general health expenses rather than medical expenses, which makes them ineligible for HSA or FSA reimbursement in most cases.17IRS. There is one exception. If a physician prescribes a gym membership or fitness program to treat a diagnosed medical condition such as obesity, hypertension, or heart disease, the expense can qualify as a medical deduction under Section 213 of the Internal Revenue Code, which makes it eligible for HSA or FSA payment. You need a letter of medical necessity from the doctor to document it. Exercise recommended for general well-being, even by a physician, does not meet that threshold.17IRS.
