If you see a charge on your bank statement labeled “The Card,” Delta Sonic, or ZipLine, it is almost certainly a Delta Sonic Card purchase: a direct debit from your checking account for gasoline or convenience store items bought at a Delta Sonic location. The Card Delta Sonic charge is not a credit card bill and not a traditional debit card transaction. It runs through an ACH payment network called ZipLine, which pulls the money straight from the checking account you linked at enrollment.1Delta Sonic Car Wash. The Card
Because the card is not issued by your bank, the descriptor on your statement may appear under ZipLine’s or Delta Sonic’s name rather than your bank’s usual formatting. That is normal for this product, but it is also the reason the line item can look unfamiliar at first glance.
What The Card Can Be Charged For
The Card works at Delta Sonic gas pumps and inside Delta Sonic convenience stores. That is the whole list. It cannot be used to pay for car washes, detailing, oil changes, or online orders, which are billed separately through other payment methods or gift cards.2Delta Sonic Car Wash. FAQs
So if the charge you are looking at is for a car wash, an Unlimited membership, or an oil change, it did not come from The Card even if it says Delta Sonic. Those are separate billing streams, covered further down.
Standard Card users save up to 10 cents per gallon on gasoline. Customers who also have a Delta Sonic Unlimited car wash membership and linked the two accounts at registration save up to 15 cents per gallon. Delta Sonic attributes the discount to the lower processing cost of ACH debits compared with credit card interchange, which it describes as roughly 2% for merchants.1Delta Sonic Car Wash. The Card
Why the Charge May Be Larger Than Expected
Each Card purchase posts as an electronic debit against your checking account. There is no stored balance, no monthly bill, and no finance charge, and Delta Sonic states cardholders are not held liable for unauthorized transactions.1Delta Sonic Car Wash. The Card
What can inflate the charge is your own bank’s response. Delta Sonic’s enrollment terms warn that a point-of-sale transaction exceeding your account balance may trigger overdrafts and the fees that go with them, regardless of whether you opted into overdraft protection on your bank-issued debit card. If the ACH pull is returned unpaid, ZipLine may collect a return fee electronically, with the amount mirroring what state law allows.3Delta Sonic Car Wash. The Card Application
If you see a charge that looks like your gas purchase plus an extra line from ZipLine or your own bank, this is the likely source.
How to Dispute a Charge or Report a Lost Card
Delta Sonic routes all Card-related inquiries to ZipLine, which handles the payment processing. For a disputed transaction, a payment concern, or a lost or stolen card, call ZipLine Customer Service at 877-403-2222. Account information can also be managed online.1Delta Sonic Car Wash. The Card
Before you call, pull up the statement line and have the date, amount, and the descriptor as it appears. If you are also disputing a related overdraft or NSF fee, your bank handles that side separately from ZipLine.
ZipLine, formerly the National Payment Card Association, is based in Coconut Creek, Florida, and processes decoupled debit transactions for retailers; the paper enrollment application is mailed or faxed to its Deerfield Beach, Florida office.4CSP Daily News. If the Charge Is Not From The Card
Delta Sonic bills customers through several channels, and recurring or large charges often come from one of these rather than The Card.
Unlimited Plan Monthly Charges
The Unlimited Plan is a monthly car wash subscription separate from The Card. It bills a credit or debit card on the first of every month, with the first month prorated. Pricing is $29.99 per month for the Super Kiss wash and $44.99 per month for the Super Kiss Plus or the Super Interior Cleaning, plus surcharges for oversized or commercial vehicles.5Delta Sonic Car Wash. Unlimited Plan
To cancel a monthly subscription, speak with a cashier, use the online member portal, or call 1-800-843-5477. Cancellation is allowed any time after the first full month’s payment and takes 24 to 48 hours to process. No refund or credit is issued at cancellation, but the plan runs through the end of the month already paid for. Prepaid annual subscriptions cannot be canceled and are not refundable.5Delta Sonic Car Wash. Unlimited Plan
Gift Card Purchases
Delta Sonic sells two gift card types, which are prepaid products rather than account-linked. A Fuel and Convenience Store Gift Card covers gasoline and convenience store purchases only. A Service Gift Card or eGift Card covers car wash, detailing, and oil change services. Fuel and C-Store balances can be checked online, with a limit of four cards per customer per purchase.6Delta Sonic Shop. Fuel and C-Store Gift Card
Point-of-Sale Charges at the Pump
Delta Sonic has acknowledged in Better Business Bureau responses that charges can occasionally be added at a gas pump for services the customer could not use, such as a car wash purchased when the wash location turned out to be closed. In at least one such complaint, the company offered either a reimbursement check or a $25 fuel card.7Better Business Bureau. If You Cannot Resolve It Informally
Delta Sonic’s terms of service require most unresolved disputes to go through binding individual arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act and JAMS rules. Customers waive the right to class actions and class-wide arbitration. The parties must first attempt good-faith negotiation, and if that fails after 90 days, the dispute moves to JAMS for mediation.8Delta Sonic Car Wash. Terms of Service
The terms also cap Delta Sonic’s aggregate liability at whichever is applicable: the amount the customer paid in the 12 months before the dispute, or $50. Services are provided on an “as is” basis, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are disclaimed, and New York state law governs.8Delta Sonic Car Wash.
