Nearly a decade after his release from Angola, Hatch picked up a new federal charge. On May 6, 2023, San Diego police saw him on an Instagram Live stream that appeared to show a firearm in his waistband during a music video shoot. Officers tracked his vehicle by helicopter and stopped it in the Chollas View neighborhood, where they found a loaded 9mm Glock 19 in the backseat where Hatch had been sitting and a 9mm Springfield Hellcat in a bag carried by a member of his security. DNA testing tied Hatch to both weapons, and investigators determined his girlfriend had purchased them.8U.S. Department of Justice.
