A BLUDLPHN charge on your credit card is a magazine subscription billed by Blue Dolphin Magazines, a fulfillment service run by M2 Media Group. On a first purchase it usually reads “BLUDLPHN.com*Magazines”; on a renewal, the descriptor may show the individual magazine title instead.1Blue Dolphin Magazines. What Will Appear on My Credit Card Statement When I Buy a Magazine Most people who spot it did sign up for something months earlier, usually a cheap promotional offer that quietly auto-renewed at full price.
Why the Charge Showed Up
Blue Dolphin sells magazine subscriptions through partner channels, including Barnes & Noble’s website, Groupon vouchers, and T-Mobile promotions, often at introductory rates around $2.2Better Business Bureau. Cancel Magazine and Newspaper Subscriptions Pop-up offers for additional titles sometimes appear during the checkout or redemption process, which is how a single voucher can turn into several ongoing subscriptions.
Every Blue Dolphin subscription enrolls in what the company calls “continuous service,” meaning it renews automatically unless you cancel. Blue Dolphin says it discloses these terms on the order page and in confirmation emails, and that it sends a renewal reminder 30 days before the charge with the rate, issue count, and a cancellation link, followed by a second reminder seven days out.4Blue Dolphin Magazines. Disputing the Charge With Your Card Issuer
If Blue Dolphin won’t refund the charge, or if you’re certain you never authorized the subscription, the Fair Credit Billing Act lets you dispute it with your credit card issuer. Send a written dispute to the billing inquiry address on your statement within 60 days of the first bill showing the charge. Include your name, account number, the disputed amount, and why you’re disputing it.10Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges
The issuer must acknowledge your dispute in writing within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days. While the investigation is open, you don’t have to pay the disputed amount, and the issuer can’t report you delinquent on it. Your liability for unauthorized charges is capped at $50 under federal law.10Federal Trade Commission. Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges
Before you file the dispute, cancel the subscription in MagTracker so the charge doesn’t repeat next cycle.
