A charge from apple.com/bill for around $10.99, $16.99, or $5.99 that repeats every month is almost always an Apple Music subscription renewal. The same billing descriptor covers app purchases, iCloud+ storage, movie rentals, and other App Store or iTunes activity, but a recurring amount matching Apple Music’s Individual, Family, or Student pricing points to the music service.1Apple Support. If You See apple.com/bill on Your Payment Statement On some statements the descriptor reads itunes.com/bill instead. Either way, you can confirm what you were billed for, cancel future renewals, and ask for a refund from the same place: Apple’s Report a Problem portal.

Why the Charge May Not Look Familiar
Several ordinary situations lead people to see an Apple Music charge they don’t remember agreeing to.
- A free trial converted. New subscribers get one month free, and buyers of eligible Apple devices get three months. Auto-renewal is on by default, so unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the plan quietly becomes a paid subscription and starts billing.3Apple Support. Disputing the Charge With Your Bank
If Apple denies the refund or the charge is truly unauthorized, you can dispute it with your card issuer. Your Rights on Auto-Renewing Subscriptions
The FTC finalized its Click-to-Cancel rule in October 2024, which requires sellers to make cancellation as simple as sign-up and to get express informed consent before charging. It applies to nearly all recurring-charge subscriptions.17Federal Trade Commission. FTC Announces Final Click-to-Cancel Rule California’s Automatic Renewal Law adds requirements that businesses clearly disclose auto-renewal terms, obtain affirmative consent, and let subscribers who signed up online cancel entirely online through a prominent link or button; 2025 amendments added annual renewal reminders and advance notice before price changes. Under that law, services provided without proper consent are treated as an unconditional gift, meaning the company cannot legally demand payment for them.18California Legislative Information.
